| I've enjoyed every Sonic game released thus far, but the first one will always hold this special place in my heart that can only be reached by playing it. (or something mushy like that) It was the one that started them all, so it gets my vote, no matter how much fun I have with the other ones as well. |

| Howdy and welcome. ..umm... any reason in particular you need quick replies to a 'welcome' thread that will more than likely be around for years unless it gets deleted? Just curious... ![]() |

| This makes the first time I've ever gone through Final Fantasy 2, and it is a really great game! I didn't think I'd like it because of the key-word learning aspect, but I'm having a really fun time leveling up my characters, and I like that I can make any of my characters learn any type of magic. I did find one 'bug' though..heh... When your character is poisoned, and you walk around, your character's sprite flashes green to show you that you are poisoned. Walk into any town, while still poisoned, and watch as all the townspeople flash green with you. ![]() I've played Origins, and I still own the original NES Final Fantasy, but this version beats them all. The graphics are great (I'm playing on a DS) and the music is really nice too. I had no idea that FF2 was the first Final Fantasy to introduce ideas like characters coming and going from your party, leveling up your abilities, the very first game to feature a Cid and his airship, Chocobo's..... I could go on and on. Also, I REALLY like that the Dark Knight looks almost exactly like Golbez from Final Fantasy 4 (the other way around actually). I loved Golbez in that game. |

Top Gear 3000 was one of my favorite racing games for the SNES (I own the cartridge) alongside TG 1 and 2. The music is cool, the graphics and speed were great, you could buy parts and upgrade your car, and takes place on different planets. ![]() For an old school racer, this game was one of the best and comes highly reccomended. |

Originally posted by Ziffski Thankfully I haven't come across that show. ![]() I almost never watch T.V. nowadays, but shows that I loved and wish were still on the air.. G.L.O.W. Wrestling... If you remember this then you probably know it's appeal to some... Aeon Flux... Back when M.T.V. was cool, there were awesome scifi cartoons like this on all the time... Buffy the Vampire Slayer... I love the storyline twists and character development that went into this show. Lesbian witches kind of sealed the deal with me here... The X-Files... This show should only have gone off the air when all the actors/actresses died of old age. That would be the only excuse for it going off the air that I would kind of accept. Earth 2... It had an interesting premise, and some cool scenery, ideas and storyline developments... It didn't last long however. ![]() Voltron... The first cartoon series I ever remember watching, and most of today's cartoons pale in comparison to it. *Glares with hatred at the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers* Fragile Rock... What if I were nude, and I had to run, and it got caught on something, and I ran anyway, and I hear a ripping sound, and I run and run and bleed to death, but I don't realize untill I collapse 80 feet from the last drop of my blood, as my cold dead, pale white bloodless corpse hits the ground, wangless and hollow... ![]() *curls up in the fecal position in a corner and rocks back and forth* |

| Fetal position...heh heh...that's a good one. XD Now that I think about it, what if something went wrong, and when I pee, it goes out through the holes, and the whole bathroom gets a golden shower from every direction?!?!? (It's the same thought I have about nose peircings, when I go to blow my nose, I feer a booger will shoot out the hole and hit someone I love directly in the pupil of their eye and they would scream/puke/cry , or fall onto a rusty spike that just happens to have been there behind them... )(edited by Chickenlump on 04-03-05 02:16 AM) |

| http://www.rpglegion.com/ff6/ff3se/index.htm This can edit quite a bit of stuff, including enemy sprites. You can also import certain image formats directly into the program to use. Also, every editor, document, dissasembly and information on the game (that I am aware of) can be found with this list of links. Look through them and you will find just about everything you need to hack that game. ![]() [SNES] Final Fantasy 6 (3 - US) http://www.masterzed.cavesofnarshe.com/ ZED's Unoriginal White Sheet http://www.angelfire.com/al2/imzogelmo/patches.html NEPROMR http://www.sharkgaming.web1000.com/sg3/ Shark Gaming 3 http://www.mnrogar.com/ Mnrogar's Den http://www.rpglegion.com/ff6/index.htm RPG Legion-Final Fantasy VI Encyclopedia http://homepage.mac.com/glennfield/magitek/index.html Magitek - Final Fantasy VI http://www.tenchinohoukai.greatnow.com/ Collaps of Heaven and Earth http://www14.brinkster.com/assassin17/ Assasin's Barren Webpage http://www.tales-cless.org/ Phantasian Productions http://members.aol.com/cklein0001/ cklein's Final Fantasy 3/6 Page http://www.angelfire.com/pq/jumparound/ Lord J's ROM hacking FF SNES games page http://www.cavesofnarshe.com/ Caves of Narshe and it's FF6 Message Board http://www.geocities.com/the6thlime/animation/notes.htm The 6th Lime's Old Page http://www.panicus.org/~the6thlime/ffvi/index.html The 6th Lime's New Page http://jalchavware.no-ip.com/drakkhen/patches.html Drakkhan's Page http://evilpeer.net/crypt/ Crypt of The Evil Peer http://www.geocities.com/runelancer/news.xmlRunelancer's Site : Project: Rebirth http://www.blitzkrieg.finalconquest.net/ BlitzKrieg Innovations http://www.geocities.com/chickenlump/WeaponTool.zip Chickenlump's small weapon editor (edited by Chickenlump on 04-03-05 08:52 PM) (edited by Chickenlump on 04-03-05 08:53 PM) |

| It's easy for people to be annoyed at the younger people that show up here. Young new people tend to ask alot of questions, ask alot of the same questions over and over, ask alot of questions when the answers are a few threads up the list in a sticky thread, ask alot of questions without bothering to read the FAQ of the board, etc.. Hate is a pretty strong word to be tossing around, especially when all people see of each other is in text form. ![]() If someone hates you without knowing you, and judging you by some text they have the option of reading....then he/she needs a serious mental evaluation done for themselves, or they never got/got too many hugs when they were children. |

The only problem with a room like that (and it is the ONLY problem I can think of with a room like that ) is that if there were some kind of fire that wiped all that out, I'm pretty sure he would literally DIE from shock or something. Watching some lonely sad 40 year old man crying because his room burst into flames and his collection got fried....would you laugh at him? I wonder if I would point at him and laugh.... The thought makes me happy now, but if I were to see it... Heh.... I'll have to think about that one... |

| The level is kind of plain looking, and the black background looks really bad with the current color choices of everything else, they just don't match. Other than those 2 relatively small gripes, I see no glaring flaws or horrid, eye tearing mistakes. Take your time, make sure nothing clashes too badly, and have fun. You seem to be off to a pretty good start. | |||

| There are all kinds of reasons to make a hack. The worst reason to make one is just to make one for everyone but yourself. But a little critisism from others can be a good thing too, if only to help you to learn from your mistakes. Blue is always a good color for the sky, but seeing as your ground is a light shade of green, perhaps your sky could be an ever-so-slightly different shade of green or blue. If you are going for a night-time theme, then add some stars or something to the background, and darken up the colors of everything else in the level (It's night, so the ground shouldn't be light up neon-green as if in broad daylight). Just use basic logic (my logic may not be the best, I'm sure others feel differently than I do) and be creative. There are almost endless possibilities for level design and graphic layouts. Sometimes the best design comes from not taking any one particular person's advice, but a nice mixture of everyone's with a touch of your own. |

Originally posted by cpubasic13 That would be me, myself, and I. They weren't that bad, were they? ![]() All I changed was the mario sprite and palette. My Koopa is very similar to the one in this thread. Even the ducking down and having eyes peeking out of his shell animation frame. My two hacks are even included in the GoodSnes set floating around for download. Well, I hope you do a pretty good job on yours, and don't forget to edit the cape to fit your Kupa. Fitting the cape to him and editing every single one of his sprites to fit took awhile to get it looking proffesional. (proffesional at the time for me anyway, I'd do a much better job nowadays). Here are some screenshots I just took of my older version. I hope to see you surpass my efforts. ![]() Shouldn't be too hard though, I only changed Mario. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() (edited by Chickenlump on 04-10-05 05:46 AM) |

Originally posted by Kyouji Craw I have no doubt Link2004 has done one as well, I was responding to the post made by cpubasic13 which mentioned a Koopa Troopa and a Goomba replacement by the same person, which I thought I'd pop in and say good luck and great job so far to the author of *this* hack. As for Link2004's hack, anyone have any links to it, or screens? I don't remember this one (at least I don't remember it being posted here at this board ). I pay particular attention to hacks with replaced playable characters, something that not enough people do, and it's really rewarding when it works out. Rob-Omb gave me the inspiration to to Koopa and Goomba, it really was one of the first and best replacements, IMO.Sonic was a large sprite for the Genesis games, you may have to shrink him down some. Or use one of the GBA Sonic sprites. turtleman, are you going to change the shell color of your Kupa sprite? I originally used Blue for his shell, which looked awesome, but ended up not doing it. I think a different colored shell would look great for your sprite, to stand out from the regular Koopa Troopas. |
