Each byte represents one of about 40 preset screens (a new screen set is loaded whenever you go up/down an elevator). The value FF signifies an inaccessible area - these can be made accessible by changing the byte to a value corresponding to a preset screen. 2590-292D Note data for the title screen theme; each byte represents the pitch of the note played. 3012-????? FD signifies the end of object data and the start of door/enemy data for that room. | It's almost as if you haven't read the FAQ, the page you are supposed to have read before posting messages here, you know, the one that states that you shouldn't ask for rom links. It wouldn't be such a big deal, but you have been here for awhile and you ought to know better by now. If, somehow you didn't know that, go ahead and read the faq now before posting again. Also, before posting questions, try doing a simple Google search for things you are looking for. Searching for Zelda Rom Hacks and Zelda Rom hacking editor or Zelda Rom hacking tools turned up a bunch of links for me, and if that fails, look through the many pages in the Rom Hacking forum here, toward the bottom of the page you will find links to every post ever made here, where you are bound to find similar posts and the stuff you want. http://www.zophar.net http://www.romhacking.com Go to these sites, bookmark them and look through them whenever you need general emulation utilities, they contain many many emulators (if not all of them) and rom hacking utilities, like editors and tools. Searching google, the pages and posts here, and all the pages on the two sites above will help you with about 90 % of your "Where can I get Emulator, Rom, Editor..etc.." questions. Also, at top of this forum, in a sticky thread (where you should also have checked first) is a post entitled "Sticky: Is there a *insert game* editor? <--IMPORTANT". http://amber.stormbirds.org/board/thread.php?id=624 After doing everything above, if you still need help finding something, then starting a new thread would be O.K. |

| Reading the Manual for Temporal Flux will let you know about TF's requirements. I think you are missing the .NET runtime files. Download them at this address... http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=262d25e3-f589-4842-8157-034d1e7cf3a3&displaylang=en Post back here if installing the .NET runtimes does not fix your problem, ok? ![]() |

| Temporal Flux itself would be your best bet Spekkio, unless you find a hex editor to be a bit faster for you. Those would be your only two options right now, really. Evil Peer mentioned that the release would not be the final release, and as such, there would be bug fix releases and additions to the code eventually. There has never been a perfect editor release, on the first release, that someone could just run and make a full, perfect hack, no matter how impressive it seems. Things are only getting better with each release. | |||

Originally posted by Ecthelion It sounds like you downloaded an update, and not the full version of Temporal Flux. Download the last full version of Temporal Flux, and then download the latest Update for it. When you have them all in one folder, you will have the Temporal Flux exe and it's 3 DLL files that it requires. It sounds like you just have the EXE and none of the DLL's. Backtrack through the thread and download the latest Full and Update zip files and put them into one folder. |

| The version you had hosted was indeed the latest version, Zeality. For now, download it from here: http://www.angelfire.com/in3/chickenlump/ChronoTweaker.zip Note: It only works for a headered ROM, so for now, add a header, or begin with a headered rom, use it, and then remove the header afterwards. I will have the final version of it up sometime this week, for unheadered ROMs. The Gato editor, and Treasure Chest editor will be MIA, the Gato Editor is now obsolete, and the Treasure Chest editor never really worked anyway. ![]() As for getting ANY sprite in the game as a fightable monster, all I did was change the monster's 'Sprite Creation' data to that of another. Since NPC's and monsters are all compressed, it was a quick switch. Just copy down the NPC of your choice's Sprite Creation data in Chrono Tweaker, and change the monster of your choice's Sprite Creation data to that. Getting a playable character as a fightable enemy is easy as well. In Evil Peer's Offsets.txt file are the hex addresses of the uncompressed playable character's sprites. In a hex editor, copy the entire hex area that the sprite encompasses. In the Offsets.txt file: 130000 136B3F GFX No No Frog sprites 5/1/2003 In a hex editor, copy from 130000 to 136B3F and copy. Paste it as it's own file, and save. You now have a file that has all of Frog's sprites. Now, in Temporal Flux, use the Compression Tool, and save that file over another monster's sprite (you must know the address of the monster's compressed sprites). Now, Frog's sprites are compressed and are in place of said monster. Now change that monster's Sprite Creation data to that of Frog (the characters have Sprite Creation data too) and you now have Frog as an enemy. Of course, change it's stats and name to match. Make sure that Frog's sprites aren't bigger than the sprite you are over writing, or the next sprite will be overwritten or corrupted. |

| Untill some kind of unscratchable disc media is made (I think there's one in the works, but not for PSP), I'll stick with cartridges. Every cartridge system I've owned (handheld or otherwise) have given me games that I can still play if I drop their games, scratch the games, etc etc... Discs are great, but not for a handheld. The media just scratches too easily, and for an 'on the go' system, the media is bound to move around alot as well. I'd hate to buy a game, drop it accidentally, and it's garbage. Cartridges are getting better, can hold more data, don't scratch as easily, require less (or almost none) loading times, and don't need a spinning/reading drive to suck away my battery life. | |||

| It's meaning isn't lost, it will just shine the next Christmas, and the next, and the next.... Very nice edits, it look beautifull and very well done. Perhaps the Pokeballs could be edited into presents, and you capture the Pokemon into the presents. That would be cool. |

| That's all very possible, and are all good ideas (the more playable characters might be tough to do though...). Have you thought of a name for this hack yet? Basic storyline? I know you just started, but I like info. *bad Chickenlump* |

| I usually shy away from NES hacking, but today I spent many hours playing with FCEUXD and I'm glad I did. Even *I* can make Mario change into Hammer Mario when getting hurt or something...heh.... or Mario 2, have Mario pull up a flying carpet out of the ground instead of a radish. Heh... Great job on this project all involved, I can't wait to see what people can do with this thing. Even strange little things (like pulling up flying carpets for example...heh...laughed for about an hour tossing carpets around..heh heh). ![]() |

| I gave up fancy themes and gimmicky wallpapers months ago, and I find that simplicity really does make for a happier computer experience (for me at least). I also found that I cannot live without the many sideboard programs out there (this one is Dashboard). http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v109/Chickenlump/chickenlumpsdesktop.png |

| Your pixel art is very good, very good for 8 bit type games. I can't wait to see what you can do with SNES style games. I find that drawing or editing graphics is one of my favorite types of romhacking, and can make all the difference in any hack. Very good idea, it's one of the first First Person Shooter type games I've ever seen someone try to translate to a Side Scrolling Action/Adventure game.... Good luck with both your projects. |
