Edit: Did you try importing an exported MIDI into ModPlug Tracker and replacing the samples?

Also, can anyone guess what the hex codes in my custom title mean? (shut up X)

BZZZT Wrong!

It's the Mystery Bytes that Maple uses to find the MST. They are found in every compatible game, at varying locations. They are 16-bit THUMB instructions, aside from the wildcarded one which is a 32-bit jump instruction that differs from game to game. It is immediatly followed by two pointers, the second being the MST.

Let's just keep it at this: it's impossible to prevent ROM distribution, so why even worry about the legality of your ROM? It's not like some Suits with the Nintendo logo on their jackets are gonna bust down my door after I post how I have ROMs of every single NES game ever released, right?

I fail to see how the documentation for HAMlib will help for a Nintendo-made game. You'd have better luck with, say, GBATek.

It's cool. Point is, any encoded map data (where encoded can be an array of 16-pixel metatiles, mario-style objects, any form of compression or a combination thereof) -must- be processed and it's just that easy to decode the whole area (could be the whole level) into WRAM before pumping the relevant parts into VRAM. That's why DKC savestates contain recognizable level maps, just to name one
