| Super Gameboy was a Super Nintendo cart with a built-in GB slot. It had several hooks, for lack of a better word, that the GB game could use to upload up four distinct palettes (two sprites, background and window, AFAIK), not unlike the color function in most GB emulators, and a nice border picture to fill in the void left between GB and SNES screen sizes. | This is something I thought of today, and tried out... this is my full report... On some levels, BoBomb Battlefield for example, there are punchable blocks containing Super Shrooms. Yoshi can't punch; pressing A makes him use his long tongue instead. Fortunately, the game can be tricked very easily. There's a shroom brick in the north-west corner of BoBomb Battlefield. Playing with Yoshi, enter the level and get any cap. Cross the bridge to the king's mountain and take a left to the steep part with the red coin. Keep walking, and you'll reach a small plateau with a tree, a shroom brick, and very importantly a Goomba. Still wearing the cap, punch the brick. A red shroom should appear. Run right into the Goomba, avoiding the shroom at all costs or the trick fails. Yoshi will lose the cap and revert to his normal dinosaur form. Eventually the shroom will hit and Yoshi will grow. Now that you're playing with Super Yoshi, press A for a nifty surprise... Note that the brick does not appear for all Battlefield stars. |
