I dabble around in QB sometimes for hacking porpoises (ruby title screen editor anyone?) and recently made a use-at-own-risk memory editor (I poke things) that made Windows crash out QB.

Being set in Kanto, you might have noticed I used some sprites from Fire Red and copied the full color palette for them.

Fire Red sprites are tilted forward a bit more, compared to Ruby. As such, they seem a bit smaller, height-wise. I kinda masked this by raising the eyes one line but really...

I frankly don't know what to do.


Note: I'm NOT talking about the Battle sprites here.

There was this school desk I had to use once at school (what? kawa at school!?) and it had this screw thingy to loosen it up and tilt the desktop. It wasn't adjusted to me and in fact couldn't be because the screw was too tight to loosen. So I made do.

Got frustrated, MASHED the fucker with my head and lo, the screw loosened

Didn't hurt too long, really.

GetLow, changing the title screen's -tileset- is one thing, changing the -map- is another

Hint: it's lz77 compressed, near the tileset and not encoded in any special way.

The world map -image- is just like the title screen, intro speech, selection and whatever. Compressed tileset and map data. The actual town -locations- can be edited from EliteMap.

Exits from map to map are found in "Connections". Don't attempt to repoint, it's flawed!
