With Tile Layer Pro or Tile Molester. Be warned though: you might not find them on your first try as the beginning point is slightly misaligned.

In fact, gimme a couple minutes and I'll just post the offset here.

Edit: Brendan's sprites start at 0x30FD48, other people at 0x323CA8.

Open your rom in Spread and use the < and > buttons to find the sprite to recolor. Then pull down the Palette list and select a new one.

I'm surprised it's not obvious. I keep those editors relatively simple.
