well forcing someone to like a genre is difficult at best. I would generally play something for them that is catchy and easy to like at first. For example, with Pink Floyd I'd probably play them something from the wall, since its tracks tend to be shorter. Money from Dark Side would also be good. generally then they might go home and listen to it on their own time or download it in their own time...

but either way you can't make someone like something, even if you think it's the cream of the crop.

P.S. even people who like Pink Floyd tend to like different periods and albums. I personally don't care for anything after 1980, and I could do without stuff before 1969, though Ummagumma is a pretty weird album.

And I've also grown to hate the song "Wish You Were Here" b/c every half wit guitar player thinks he can play it like Dave. You people need to learn some other Floyd songs...

1) You can't reply in a thread that hasn't had activity in over a year, so why should you expect to vote in it? Sorry, but the poll stands. Natalie wins.

nice try, but you can reply in a thread that has been inactive that long. It just tends to get closed quickly. And the point is moot b/c a vote doesn't bump a thread.

2) She does? Oh, when did you meet her?

Sorry, correction. Acting ability of an earwig. I think she's in Garden State so if she's decent in that I will retract this.

Not sure if anyone else ever bothered to fix this or not... but this hack is something I've known about for a long time now, probably over half a year or more. Thought I'd throw this out to the community to make LTTP hacks a little more flexible.

The designers of Zelda3 never intended for Link to enter a building and be able to die as a bunny rabbit. Hence, they never coded anything to handle such an occurence. If you are an LTTP hacker intending to design forays into the dark world which permit this, this hack is for you.
***********************************

//Fixing the glitch where Link will always come back as normal Link after dying in //any dungeon. (Specifically a problem in the Dark World.)

$3F1BA: STZ $02E0 -> NOP NOP NOP
//Doing this prevents Link's graphic set from going back to his normal form.

$5FFE8: LDA #00; STA $5D -> INTERCEPTING CODE, SUCH AS JSL $OTHERADDRESS
I USED JSL $07FFF0

$OTHERADDRESS ($3FF00 IN THE ROM I HAVE) LONG SUBROUTINE
{
LDA $7EF3CA;
AND #40; // EXAMINE WHETHER WE ARE IN THE DARK WORLD OR NOT.

BNE BRANCH_IN_THE_DARK_WORLD;

BRANCH_HAS_A_MOON_PEARL:

LDA #00; // WE'RE IN THE LIGHT WORLD AND LINK SHOULD COME BACK NORMALLY
STA $5D;

RTL;

BRANCH_IN_THE_DARK_WORLD:

LDA $7EF357; // WE'RE IN THE DARK WORLD, BUT DO WE HAVE A MOON PEARL?

BNE BRANCH_HAS_A_MOON_PEARL;

LDA #17;
STA $5D; // MAKE LINK A PERMABUNNY

LDA #01;
STA $02E0; // HIS GRAPHICS SET IS THE BUNNY'S

JSL $0ED6DD; // MAKE THE TRANSFORMATION COMPLETE

RTL;
}

Note I am not releasing a patch b/c I don't want to assume what free space you might already be using in your rom for other hacks.

If you try this and have issues, please let me know, I have not yet run into any.

That doesn't help, b/c you'd still have to put your hand in the tank (you can't touch the water).

If I had to do it, I would vacuum the water out slowly, without putting the vacuum end in the tank. Once I had all the water out the pirahna would die. Also the vacuum would have a metal tip so the pirahna couldn't jump up and destroy it.

if the file is being used in another program, say, an emulator, that's why you're getting your access error. But most emulators I've seen have no issue with this. They copy the file to memory or something.

To me it didn't seem all that forced. Anakin always felt held back by Obi-Wan, and he surely resented him for it. That fight was the explosion of that frustration.

that is a mixture of compounds, and naturally some portions of it will evaporate out/melt first. The high energy substances in wood will vaporize, giving you "fire." And the remaining carbon and carbonish substances will evaporate or melt at much higher temperatures.

unless you... weren't being sarcastic, then that's just scary.

they don't sell the FX chips, etc, they sell carts which you can get those chips from.

edit: if they sell snes games at all. I usually go to a local place called BuyCo. At least, I think they're local. Most if not all funcolands became gamestops, as far as I know.

Unlikely. If I release another editor someday, I'll probably want to do something different instead of another Mario game.

If you do make a new editor (say for Zelda:LTTP *hint* *hint* *nudge* *nudge*) would you use the same engine as LM or would you start from scratch?

What is your favorite type of cookie?

There is already hyrule magic, which is more than adequate for most editing.

This is true, but it's clear in RotJ that his training in the Jedi arts is not complete. Maybe something along the lines of him not being a "master", as they say in Ep3.

Strong words for a chintzy cheat who declares polls over before they're over. Bad acting is a turnoff, btw. For example, if a woman doesn't fake her orgasm properly, you get turned off right?

Probably has a coupling of severe ADD with narcolepsy. I think Phantom Menace is way more boring compared to this. The plot is tidy, and flows rapidly from start to finish.

Jeezi Creezi... everyone's a scientist these days. I was assuming standard pressure. One thing I don't know is, if removing all oxygen from the testing area (and funneling in other inert gases lke nitrogen to equalize pressure), will prevent cumbustion of wood even at extremely high temperatures, say 3000+ degrees F.

Posted on 05-24-05 05:02 AM, in Ayway of connecting through? Link
I heard something a while back about connecting through SSH (basically the upgraded and more secure telnet), but I could never quite figure it out. At that point I was trying to skirt a firewall on my campus connection. I eventuallyz gave up and decided to set up a VPN instead. So yeah, I've heard it's possible, but I think to do something of that sort you'd have to have some sort of script, and permission to access the irc network at a high level, like IRCop. The grand majority of users don't have the access priviledges to do that.

If you don't like mirc, you could download hydraIRC, or use Mozilla or Firefox's Chatzilla. If you have Mozilla it's already installed, I believe. If you have Firefox it's available as an extension. Mozilla's doesn't have timestamps, but Firefox's smiley graphics suck. Of all three I'd recommend hydraIRC for features and the Mozilla ones for convenience.

I'm not positive a lightsaber would stop metal bullets, let alone would they be able to block all the fire from a semiauto/automatic weapon. I suppose if the Punisher was able to ambush them he might win, but in open battle he'd get punished himself.

Well yeah, like I said it makes it more flexible to make hacks. But, the primary motivation was to begin patching a number of glitches in the normal game. This can be exploited in the original to defeat most if not all of the game without a moon pearl.
