No. I'm a math major in my senior year of college. If I didn't know this stuff, I'd be considered a laughing stock among my peers. And I plan to go to grad school next year. Btw I just used the quadratic formula yesterday on a homework assignment . Doesn't happen that often anymore, it was a coincidence. But seriously, it's only one formula, how hard is it to remember when algebra classes make you use it over and over and over again?

I've had pipedreams about many such projects. But after looking for code hour after hour, day after day, the likelihood of that being a possibility is near nil. The best I can come up with would be an active code manager, that would attempt to manage data blocks, and code at the same time, so you could insert your code, and "recompile" it. However, that would rely on your real time emulation knowing almost everything about the game. Otherwise, you might have some unknown code calling the old location of your data blocks, etc...

Doesn't seem like an easy task.

You haven't seen a doctor yet? You really ought to. You're not qualified to diagnose yourself with a terminal illness. It could be something simple that you never thought of. Maybe depression itself, maybe an infection that is treatable. But if you don't get treatment, something like that could end up fatal and you would have been able to treat it in the first place!

But if this is the way things are going to be, then this place is a waste of my time.

Rational reason my ass. This is proof that at least one person found it useful. Now shut up and stop wasting people's time.

Geiger: I am trying to use Mark 9 release 7 (finally) but it isn't detecting any roms except the one rom that happens to be in My Documents. I checked back with release 6 and it was functional. Were you midway through implementing your overhaul of the open rom dialogue or something? The debugger is functional with roms that are on my recent list, however.

Oh, whoops forgot about that. Well just as a reminder you should change it on your site as well. The most recent update is release 7.

The majority of the Judeo-Christian mythos are based around early Babylonian and Egyptian myths.

The Greek gods were visible to every man, and often had infighting. They exemplified imperfection!

Although I agree with it beginning with people needing an explanation.

Greek gods could make themselves invisible, and take on any number of forms. In the same way you might interpret someone as being an incarnation of God ("Jesus at your door", and all that jazz). Furthermore, in mythology you are not guaranteed to recognize a god as a god, even if you see one. I fail to see how these things are fundamentally different.

Men feared the Greek gods the same way you fear God. The only difference is that they are not conceptually perfect, as in the construction of a monotheistic all powerful God. But, on the other hand I think it is incorrect to say that they "exemplify imperfection." If you consider all the positive qualities among them, it adds up to something like all powerful, b/c their mythology often tries to explain how the world works in some elementary fashion. So... take some sort of union of powers, subtract off the negative qualities, voila.

Couple options...

once yuou're in your routine, push the first ten addresses ($0-$9) onto the stack. Do whatever you wanted to do. Then pull (aka pop) them off the stack when you're done. Simple, but consumes a bit of space. You can use loops to make it less dirty. Provided you don't overflow your stack (not extremely likely with 10 bytes), this is pretty safe, even for porting to an SNES.

Or your could use sram locations. If the game doesn't normally use save files, you're fine, b/c it will just create a save file for you. If it does use save files, you can either expand the size of the sram file it creates, or try to find unused locations in the file itself. Depending on the emu, the blank areas will look like #$55, #$60, or #$00.

But if you plan to port your hack to an actual SNES, that will create some extra concerns. Like the fact that your cart will have to have a memory chip to store this stuff on. You'd also have to modify some internal value telling the emu/snes what size sram file to create, possibly. I think it's idiot proof on an emu, but I'm not sure if the SNES pays attention to that value.

If you live anywhere near a large university, such as UW, they often have surplus stores where you can buy used equipment at a discount. Might need to be a student or faculty in some places, though. You can also check for moving sales. I saw a 19" monitor at my building going for like $20 (CRT).
