glitchy exits? well you need to work on containing the player on the overworld. I've been many places I shouldn't have been at all and experienced many problems.

It's only a joke if you count puns as jokes. And puns are the lowest form of joke IMO

Oh well, it's good to be able to get a job with some friends, but it could be better if you worked with people you don't know. Like that you get to meet new people and get real working experience.

Well I'm a guy... the difference I suppose is that I'm sort of compulsive. If I'm going to turn in work early, say Japanese like I had last year, I usually turn in like 4 weeks worth of assignments in advance (god bless syllabi). I like getting things out of the way, but turning in one pissant little assignment early doesn't mean crap to me.

Believe me, if you spent two years with a fruity French teacher in high school who daily liked to make puns in French, in English, and even cross-linguistically, you'd fucking scream bloody murder on puns.

You know, on the brightside Omega, the overworld glitches in your first release of the hack will allow me to isolate the code for handling the Chris Houlihan room if I'm lucky. I got off the beaten path and entered a hole I shouldn't have gone into . The game sends you there when there's any sort of problem with loading rooms. Time to bust out the tracing build for snes9x.

Ok here's one. There's a "raper's furniture" near me.

....

Why the hell would anyone call their store "RAPER'S"?

I can understand that the formal term is actually rapist, but still.

Update:

Well I traced that glitched area and sure enough the Chris Houlihan room came up again. From the (ASM) trace I got to confirm what I had suspected since last year, that the game changes to a specialmode before entering the Chris Houlihan room. If you don't know what I'm talking about don't worry about it.

I'm going to spend some more time seeing whether there are other ways of triggering/ controlling the process...

At first I liked Raph a lot, then Donatello a lot, now I sort of like both of em equally. The other ones just seemed too... much like shmucks.

Donatello in TMNT 1 (NES) owns btw

It's not so much for gameplay hacking but for the purpose of answering some questions about the Chris Houlihan room. No one knows at this point exactly how it is triggered by non error events (i.e. the way most people get to see it) it would be a nice piece of trivia to figure out how.

On the other hand, it might also give some insight into creating debugging routines, which is what the Chris Houlihan room is. (bad room data and such will cause it to trigger)

21, and I'd rather not say because when I tell people what I want to do, I have a habit of not doing it. (Otherwise I get things done usually )

son of a...

My comp has some serious registry issues so I can't work on this at the moment.

Edit: Whew glad I fixed that or I would have lost lots of work.

One problem I've noticed in our school system (US) is that it doesn't accomodate people who, perhaps, don't want anything to do with an academic background. Someone who wants to be a welder or some other skilled laborer may not care to read Shakespeare or know what the hell cos(x) means. Lots of kids actually go to school for one reason - so they can play sports. That's it. They maintain a mininum average for that sole purpose and I'm not making this up I know people who do this.

There is a current trend in some districts to move more towards vocational style education at the high school level. Hopefully that will work out, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

sin, cos, and tan are easy and basics which should be taught without question, because many "skilled laborers" need to use them!

Indeed there is a reason they're called elementary functions. But I tutor lots of students in math and I'll be damned if most of them know what they even are. And I'm talking college students not high schoolers.

And from what I can tell, most skilled laborers or professionals of a technical sort have tables to lookup the necessary values (as did mathematicians in days of old before calculators). There are shortcuts in most trades in order to make work easier. I'm not saying that knowing that cos(x) and sin(x) are distance projections on a unit circle isn't helpful, it's just that it's not always requisite to do your job. Would they care to know that cos(x) = e^(ix) - e^(-ix) / 2? Probably not. Should we draw a line between course material that is intellectual and that which is practical?
