At the arcade I frequent sometimes they recently got a "Ranger Mission" game. I almost thought it was mistranslated because of the garbled sound effects missing with the voice acting. I thought it said "eliminate the hostages and vanquish the enemy" but unfortunately (after waiting 5 min or so) it ended up being "liberate" when I heard it again. Too bad.

On the other hand, there are a few awkwardly translated phrases in Chrono Trigger, usually later in the game. I think near the Northern Ruins's town.

While I voted no I do prefer cats over dogs by far. If I could find a way around allergies + the ability to have one in my house I'd probably get one.

I don't care for it really. It basically creates a system where you can never relax. Let's just assume for simplicity that the terrorists actually pay attention. If you went down to um green or whatever it is I don't even know because they've never gone that low, then the terrorists would be like "This is our chance." So we're not going to portray our selves as being off guard, that's fucking stupid.

I also think Americans are too stupid to understand it. There should be four levels: small, medium, large, and extra large. That's shit we understand. Maybe even throw in "Big Gulp" (gulp in a different sense) to round it out to 5 levels.

No it's not. If Ayla was originally portrayed as being articulate in the Jap version, that's a mistranslation because she's a numbskull in the US one.

When I was in High School, my mom was cool enough to allow mental health days. I say I need the day off, she writes a note for the next day. I would get more study time, and all was well. Not that I did that all the time, just moments of major stress or impending fKitten Yiffer.

If you like DDR arcade, definitely avoid the Korean look alike machines. They're terrible. Though they have 5 arrows, which includes a center pad, the music is grating and annoying. But that's Korea for you...
