Personally I'm not really pro dem or pro republican. I find it kind of strange that PINK FLOYD fans would like Bush, since I happen to be one. Some of their music is meant to criticize conservative politicians of the 70s and early 80s. Margaret Thatcher and Mrs. Whitehouse, namely. I'm guessing its a bunch of know nothing rich kids who only listen to Dark Side of the Moon and think it's their best album (it's probably not).

Anyways I don't think Bush will be reelected, and if he is I'd probably just leave this country. Every year he's in office I grow more contempt for my country. I don't need his demagoguery.

Not that I like Kerry all that much either, but if that's what it takes so be it. I personally would have preferred John Edwards but he ran his campaign like an idiot most of the time. Came off as too much of an idealist and too much of a nice guy. Didn't take credit for himself like politicians are supposed to do.

I don't really see much point in doing this, since you would personally have to do work to change a dialogue that the Snes9x team is probably never going to remove in their official releases anyway. It's been in there as long as I've used it. (4-5 years I think).

I had a bout 40 posts in a Gamefaqs troll/flame war one time. That was over several days though. It gets to a point where things start going in circles though.

Not that music taste has to reflect your political taste. But when I think Pink Floyd fan I don't think Bush supporter. It... just doesn't seem to mesh very well.

Ha Ha Charade you are

You could have at least said it was from "Pigs" off of "Animals" and not left people guessing. :p

You actually thought I was serious? Maybe if this were in general chat. It works out because in America I can have my football. And y'all can have your own football. There isn't really a problem I was mock debating.

Well since that we're on the topic of political discussion. Where exactly do you get you views from? I think that's an important consideration when talking about Presidential elections and candidates like John Kerry.

I'll agree with Bella. I think Chemistry as taught in school is a pain in the ass. The funny thing is that i find it to be a fascinating subject out of class. The problem with the way they taught me in high school was that when you did a lab they'd have you do the write up before hand in a lab book and we'd always talk about safe operating procedures - but we never really went over what was going to happen in the lab in terms of chemistry. The questions for the post lab always had you guess what reactions occurred. As if I magically knew what was going to happen. My labs always involved chemicals that had no bearing on the current theory we were studying. It didn't help that my teacher was a cokehead who never knew what was going on exactly.

Not really man. While you're a minor all your assets are technically the property of your parents. You wouldn't have any say in the matter unless you wanted to get violent or something. Maybe that's just American statues, though. You said "mum" and that could mean you're from any number of places.

I don't think most Americans have that view except the psychos who will eventually (hopefully) be arrested for child abuse. I'm all for punishment when a kid does something as asinine as the topic of this thread. I wouldn't put up with this crap as a parent either.

If punishment (negative reinforcement) is so "primitive" then what do you suggest? Telling the kid, don't drink beer, don't drink wine, don't lie to me? I don't think that will work with American kids. But if you have a better method I'd like to hear it.

I've played with both Visual Basic 6 and Delphi 6 and in general I prefer Delphi. The notion that different conventions are somehow a bad thing is something I don't agree with. In fact I think it would make more sense to merge the two conventions. := being the assignment operator, and == the equals comparison operator.

For sure VB is easier to learn but it requires those damned runtimes. Delphi doesn't require any and it's about as easy as VB for most things. The only barrier might be learning Pascal but it's frankly not that hard.

If it's good enough for a mathematician, it should be good enough for everyone.

Your post would be agreeable if it were not for the fact that mathematicians never can agree on notation. Try reading 3 books on the same subject (usually advanced ones) and you'll find lots to complain about. That said, I think that using two character operators is more specific and if it were set that way for all languages there would be little to no ambiguity for those learning a language.

Posted on 06-13-04 11:07 AM, in Which snes game has used the snes capacities better? Link
If we're talking a bare SNES, no extra chips, my top picks would be:

Super Metroid - usage of many different modes, done tastefully (mode 7, IRQ)
Chrono Trigger - beautiful music, nice spell effects
Seiken Densetsu 3 - also amazing music. Mode 7 map was as good as ever. Graphics were good and detailed.

Modded SNES:

Super Mario RPG [SA1 I think] - very good graphics and effects. Music is also quite good.
Star Fox 1 & 2 [SFX 1 & 2] - Hell I like the graphics. I thought the textures from Starfox 64 were hella ugly, and the voice acting was annoying/atrocious. Had it been completed, SF2 would have been awesome with the multiplayer mode (which I've played in the beta).
Street Fighter 2 Alpha - just... cool.

That's pretty sad. I work at a Boy Scout summer camp (and thus I will be posting here about once a week unfortunately) and you know how many drowning deaths we've had in the past 20 years or more? None. We use the buddy system and I think it could prevent a few senseless deaths in places like this. When you have a buddy you're supposed to look out for that person and make sure they're all right. The lifeguards at the camp have buddy checks about every 7-10 minutes. Don't know if the public would go for something like that but it works for us.

Poor Bella. I wouldn't be so cynical if I were you. You can trust other people to get things done as long as you pick the right people and give them friendly reminders. Though I guess your parents have a few problems to sort out that might make that difficult. :|

Well in my honest opinion, a language I've come around to recently is Python. pretty sure GUI development tools are available for it and the syntax and features it has are quite fun. Whether you'd use it or not would depend upon what you wanted to do with it. On the bright side it's all free! And the Win IDE for it isn't too bad.
