They ARE a purplish color! Course, I'm probably going to have to tweak colors at home a little as I have no faith in the LCD monitor I use at work (I have no faith in LCD monitors unless they are Apple...) and I think it might be distorting color / gamma / contrast.

Hair is likely going to be black too

More work done on this during the late shift at work (home time in 12 minutes, yey!)

Still need to do a few little things (like fix up her tail) and stuff....

Well, I wasn't happy with the eyes, so I kinda tried to make them a little lighter.

Finished the tail...

Not sure what, if anything, I should do to the pic. Have considered a background, but not quite sure what to do yet, so haven't done.. anything.

Just wondering -- how do you guys cope with illness?

At the moment, I have a big cyst (as I'm sure most of you are aware) and I'm awaiting a second opinion. I'm starting to get really frustrated by the lack of answers that medical science is giving me here, and I'm finding myself worrying about this, and also in a reasonable amount of pain.

I'm wondering, of any of you who have been in similar situations with illness, how do you guys cope with things like waiting for answers from doctors / worry / pain, etc?

Worry is certainly my biggest problem, but then I do have depression/generalised anxiety problems to begin with.

Being in hospital for that day last week was scary, knowing that I was supposed to have surgery (that never happened) and wondering when it was going to happen.... I've never had my stomach tie itself up in that many knots before.

ROFL -- yes, sleep. Silly rabbit.

Anyways, my other suggestion is what I did -- you could build yourself / purchase an old shitbox computer for the running of old games I had one or two games that I couldn't get to run in DOSbox (although Descent certainly should) so I had to do that. (And I love my old shitbox computer)

Leg -- I'm on birth control pills and have been for... five years? They ain't doing shit in regards to the cyst -- the cyst hasn't changed at all during the week, it's still 12.8 x 11.1 x 7.4 cm with a volume of 560ml. My cycle also is not affecting said cyst.

Doctor says that -- and this was speculation btw -- they might not have operated because they may have had to remove my right ovary if they did. Pfft... I like my ovary. I'm rather attached to it, it's been there all my life.

And yeah, I have been distracting myself -- Modern Art has benefited greatly from worry-distraction activities such as drawing recently.

So that's why I never win the ACS!

Posted on 05-27-05 06:09 AM, in Evangelion Link
Evangelion was the first "real" anime I ever saw, and so it's definitely one of my favorites for that reason alone. However, it's the story and the emotional aspects of each of the characters that keep me watching it again, years later.

I LOVE Evangelion.

Every last one of the characters is flawed, and it's great. There is pretty much NO one-dimensional character in the entire story, even non-central characters have something to them.

The science fiction story that these characters are set against is stunning and amazingly detailed. The more you watch the series, the more you notice about how well put-together it all is.

I hope that if you've seen the series, you'll now see the movie(s), although I can warn you that it's... "fucked up".... in the same kind of way the series is.

I love Evangelion.

And my fave character is Misato Katsuragi, btw.

Yeah, I've heard about the live action Eva, and I'm not really impressed thus far with a lot of the stuff I've seen.

As for the movies, I meant End of Evangelion specifically; Death and Rebirth is okay, but more a rehash of the series than anything.

And you're right on both the things about Eva / Adam

I dunno, she's mysterious. I like her, she starts off as more or less a puppet and does change a lot through the series

Mmm... party. I keep trying to plan one and stuff keeps happening to prevent me from being able to organise / host it.

So I've just been getting drunk with my housemates instead.

Just out of interest, how many of you would read a book based on a movie -- or after seeing a movie based on a book, set out to read the book?

If you do read a book based on a movie, do you find the book more enjoyable than the movie? Same with if you read a book that a movie was based upon....?

Just wondering

Oh, and I'm vaguely considering reading the Star Wars Episode III book for something to do.
