I'm going to be seeing Ben Folds play live here in Adelaide tonight at the Thebby.

I was just wondering if anybody else here was a Ben Folds fan. I am (duh), but this is the first time I'll have seen him live. I have two of the Ben Folds Five albums, and I plan to get his new album and stuff too.

I am quite looking forward to this -- I am in particular looking forward to hearing him perform the song "Adelaide", as it is about my hometown.

Anybody else a Ben Folds Five / Ben Folds fan?

I don't have it, but I remember hearing it on JJJ.

Wee, nearly time to go catch a bus and find somewhere near the Thebby to have dinner

Hm, when I got up this morning, I had all but forgotten that there was a Ben Folds' show on this weekend... I meant to get a ticket last week, but I was broke. Lucky I remembered today, now I've been paid again!

EDIT: "Bitches Ain't Shit" was MUCH funnier live.

Isn't hate a very strong word to use for a browser, Xkeeper??

Well, I certainly agree that this thread is fairly pointless, but each to their own.

I'm a Firefox user too, btw. I used to use Opera, until the Opera 6 release. I stopped using Opera because there were a few things in the release that weren't quite my cup of tea, so I got curious about other browsers and I found Firefox 0.6. I liked it, so I stuck with it.

If I were to choose a second preference, I'd choose Opera on my PC, or Camino on my Mac.

And (slightly off topic) I was really disappointed when Opera didn't make a browser to suit my PocketPC. I never found a good alternative to IE on that thing...

Personally, I welcome an update to IE.

I hope that it brings with it some security and usability updates. I hope that it adheres to standards better.

I also hope that the alternative browsers continue to innovate and continue to win loyal users.

I hope that this leads to competition, which in turn leads to further innovation.

Plus, I also hope that an update to IE might stop the lusers I work for getting their computer spywared to hell and back.

I think that this is a positive thing, however I don't think it is going to make that much of an impact.

I would dearly love to believe that this guy really is going to prison, and that other spammers are going to be scared by this, or that other spammers may find themselves in the same position, but I am skeptical.

But yay if it happens.

Anyways on the spyware -- the lusers I work for work in a corporate environment where KaZaA, etc generally aren't used. They're blocked at the firewall, for starters, and I don't think the users even know what they are / how to use them. Yet we get a lot of spyware... HotBar is a fan favorite around my work

It looks fine to me, although the typo is doubly distracting when you re-read the words "pixel perfect".

From a pixel artists' perspective, I'll note that a lot of pixel artists won't consider your work pixel art, due to the fact that you've used gradients (without manually dithering -- ie, the orange) but pretty much nobody but a pixel purist will care. I will call it art with pixel art elements.

It looks fine to me, and I like the contrast in the colors.

Er... *cough* okay. Well, I'm not sure if a layout is really a reason to post more, but anyways.

I don't mind your current layout, but a change is fine too. I have no preference as to what you should change it to, what do YOU want to do?

Well, one reason I'd imagine a lot of people stick with things like email accounts is that it's a hassle telling everybody that you've changed address. Same with why people stick with ISP's (ie, AOL) and with phone carriers....

Still, I recommend any hotmail users to try gmail for a bit. It's good

I was just wondering... how much Australian music are you guys familiar with, and what bands are you familiar with?

I tend to be very familiar with Australian music (although a lot of Aussies surprisingly aren't all that familiar with the Aussie music scene outside of Australian Idol, which is really disappointing), but I was just wondering how many people from outside of Australia are familiar with Aussie music.

So, I was wondering, what Australian bands are you guys familiar with?

And props to somebody who can name where that thread title is from

Coke, preferably made with Adelaide water in it, cause our weird water adds a certain tang to the Coke that I've grown used to. The coke made in Sydney or Melbourne just isn't the same.

Yay!

Mac OS X Tiger is going to be released on April 29!

I have been looking forward to this, as I've been thinking about getting a new Mac, and I've been holding out for this before I finalised my decision.

I am definitely going to be getting Tiger, I made my mind up about that a long time ago. I'm looking forward to features like Spotlight and Dashboard, and I can't wait to get to play with them all

I adore Panther, so I'm hoping that Tiger rocks even more

Yay!

Spotlight is a search tool.... although the word "tool" seems a bit inaccurate, it's more a system that's built into the OS. Here's Apple's Spotlight Page

Dashboard will allow you to put little mini applications called Widgets on your computer, things that tell time, weather, calendars and sticky notes, etc. Apple's Dashboard Page. I used to use Konfabulator, which is similar, although I found it was weird and buggy.... I suspect that Dashboard on the other hand will not be.

Ah, I love my tablet too, particularly for just... doodling... in it I should get a new one though, mine is teh fucked (I am wearing through the coating on the top of the tablet... stylus is fine though)

I like the colored pic, particularly as I don't think I'd previously seen anything colored from you. Nice colors you've chosen, too

Yoshi Dude -- it's not just you with the Flash. I have trouble with Flash in Firefox on OSX.

I don't have the problem in Windows though, so I wonder if it's a Mac thing?
