| First off, is Ad Aware up to date? Like most antivirus software, Ad Aware and Spybot need to be updated to catch all the latest nasties. There's a little tool in the program itself for you to download the latest reference files. Once you have the latest reference files, I suggest scanning again. And yes, use Mozilla/Mozilla Firefox as your default browser -- in fact, HIDE IE if you can! Hide it good and proper so that your dad can't find it and has to use Firefox.  |

| Well, unfortunately I don't have the advantage of being able to use a Bayesian filter, as I use webmail (OpenWebmail to be precise). So, custom filtering is the way to go for me. Working good so far, but does need some fine tuning a bit sometimes. |

| Oh yeah, I get a lot of viruses too, but like I said, the majority of those can be safely ignored. Just make sure that your mail client or whatever deletes ALL mail with a .exe, .pif, .scr, .bat attachment, and no worries. I don't know anybody who would LEGITIMATELY send me one of those files. I left .zip, like I said, so I still get that virus-spam, but somebody might legitimately send me a .zip, and I don't want to risk a false positive with that one EDIT: Oh goodie, it looks like my spammer from Comcast.net is on right at the moment, sending out their daily spam. *waves* Hello! *reports to spamcop as a mole* (edited by ChibiTaryn on 04-08-04 11:40 PM) |

| Well, I know I'm pissed at my former doctor, but I dunno if this relates really to what you're talking about. I'm still on Zoloft, an SSRI-type antidepressant. And it's been giving me side effects galore, without any proven benefit. Yet, my former doctor IGNORED me when I said I had side effects, everything was just "normal" as far as he was concerned. When I got REALLY sick from the side effects, he took blood tests -- twice -- and still couldn't tell me what was wrong. Turns out I shouldn't even be on Zoloft.  |

| Hyperhacker -- but I'm very good with my spam avoidant practices, and I STILL get spam. If you have your own domain, you're at risk too. When I had all the business mails, "abuse@" "sales@" "info@" etc, all got spambombed to hell..... All the domains I have had have been VERY quiet with spam for a while, and then BANG. Although I did read on Slashdot that they are actually going through domain listings and things now looking for targets. DNS stuff and whatnot. And you can't NOT put a mail address on those, you are REQUIRED to. |

| Hmm... I'm sorry to hear it. Well, your insurance should cover things, right? I'm just glad you guys weren't hurt. And I hope the guys that were hurt are okay as well. I'm sure the driver herself got a fair fright too. At 17 you don't have much driving experience under your belt; so it probably scared the shit out of her as well. It's not an excuse for not stopping at the scene of the accident though.... but it might explain why she did anyways. Anyways, I'm glad to hear you guys are okay, and hopefully everything should be sorted out soon. |

| I like how Scientists are always out to prove things -- or rather learn things about the world around us. Without so many scientists, we wouldn't be living in this world we are now, with computers and such.... Besides, FallenWarrior, if you don't care, why post, or vote? I prefer Science over Religion, however I am not a religious person myself. I like to learn about what makes the world around us "tick" so to speak. |

| Heh, if you're looking for relief from the depression, I'm afraid I can't offer you much help. I know what it's like to lose a loved one, the best advice I can offer you is to remember the good times you had with your sister. Maybe have a special birthday party for her anyways, with a little cake. Really, there's no advice I can offer to make it all better. I lost my father, and so I know a little how you feel. But always remember your sister, and celebrate her life, rather than mourning her death. She would've wanted it that way, I'm sure. |

Eh, I drew an attempted anime self portrait/caricature. It's not a *true* self portrait in that some things are exaggerated, so it's some kind of anime caricature thing more than anything. Click on the image above to see the BIG version (warning, biiiig PNG file) It's not perfect, but I'm happy with it anyways. Why? Because for once in my lazy life, I bothered to add FOLDS TO THE CLOTHING! Yaay me! They're not perfect folds, but they're folds, they're there, and I did them Now I just have to KEEP ON DOING THEM! Hehe, I'm glad you two like it  Jizuko -- with the glasses, it wouldn't really matter if they were crooked. Those glasses have tiny titanium frames, they get tangled in my hair and wind up *really* (real life) crooked anyways  (Sometimes they get stuck in my hair and I can't get them out ) Although I wasn't trying to make them crooked in the pic. As for requests, I may think about it, but at the moment I've actually been going through a drawing slump of sorts where I haven't been finishing a lot of pics. I think it's cause my depression's been nasty lately and I just haven't felt up to drawing much. Heh, and I'll try to draw something blokey later |
