I would, but I can't get to the main page either. There WAS a mirror on it, but I can't get to it.

The link's been slashdotted, I wonder if it's still undergoing a slashdotting though... (or a farking for that matter)

LOL, Squash Monster -- I'd love to hear somebody sing that at the Carols at the church!

Other than that, we don't really get door to door carollers around here or anything. Some people go to Church and sing carols, but that's it.

Sounds like another name for "Service Pack" to me.

Well, Merry Christmas, it's been Christmas here for 37 minutes.

All I've done so far this Christmas is wrap presents.

OGG is a better format, but MP3 is supported by so much more stuff.

Car stereos, CD players, portable music players all support MP3 more than OGG. So even though OGG is an excellent format, it's unfortunately useless to me, as I have an iPod, and all my devices and players support MP3 more readily than OGG.

I'm guessing I'm not the only one in the same boat either... although if you have an iRiver, I think those support OGG...

I got housey things. I got a mortar and pestle, a cheese board and knife, a lazy susan, a tablecloth, a dining set (table and chairs) and cushions to go on the chairs. Sweet.

Well, I have photos now of my stash.... 2 photos...

Table + Chairs. The table and chairs I got, as well as the placemats and lazy susan all set out nice. Cushions on the chairs also part of present. (Note, some stuff in this photo not presents... like my salt and pepper, and my laptop)

Comprehensive Present Photo Close up of all the stuff I got. There are No-Doz behind the mortar and pestle... my brother thought it was funny. I wonder if I crush them with the mortar and pestle, if I can put them in things....

Stoked to have a good table now, I was using an outdoor table before, and it wasn't real good.

Frankly, I've always liked the lack of an admin panel in Acmlmboards. I see it as an additional security thing though.... it's generally easier for somebody to gain access to an onboard admin panel than it is for them to gain editing access to your mySQL database. (through phpMyAdmin, for example).

Song makes perfect sense to me. But yeah, it was goddamned annoying.

Some of Meatloaf's rock opera stuff is okay, but frankly I think Queen's rock opera is better.

I think my stuff is fun!!

I think maybe cause I'm getting old.....

Course, I haven't grown up enough to NOT find the Lazy Susan to be a fun toy. And the beer also fun. Together, they inspired me to make stop motion animation.

But yeah, I must be growing up, I was really happy to get tablecloths and cheeseboards! And my mortar and pestle ROCK.

Yeah, I've been following it on F-Secure's Blog since Boxing Day (but haven't been able to post really cause I had last post...).

To quote:

Although the concept of an automatic network worm that randomly targets sites with PHP vulnerabilities sounds really bad, in practice these latest Santy variants haven't gotten out of control.

This operation seems to be run by a group of Brazilian hackers that are creating a botnet which is controlled via an IRC server operating under gigachat.net.

We checked the channel recently and it had less than 100 bots on it. So while there are lots of vulnerable sites out there, this worm is still under control.

It's actually surprising there aren't more infections, as the worm seems to be bounding some PHP sites aggressively, even to the point of creating a denial-of-service by just overloading them. This hits worst the sites that are best picked up by search engines. One administrator reported seeing 1-2 hits to his site every second for the past 20 hours.

In fact, the Santy variants that were found during Christmas holidays shouldn't be categorized under the Santy family at all - the code is different and they are targetting a different vulnerability. The only similarities are that they all are written in Perl, all target PHP sites and all use search engines.

Update:The latest variants have now indeed been categorized under a new family called "Spyki".

Damn you Brazillian hackers.

I work, also with phones.

I work in a Help Desk for the Department of Education and Children's Services. I do IT stuff, help people with their computers, etc.

I enjoy it, but I am not a permanent employee there yet.... I am applying (and freaking out about applying) at the moment.

Time is running out, I am starting to freak out, wheeee.. I redesigned my blog in an effort to procrastinate, and I installed MT-Blacklist too

I've tried to write some more, here's another bit I'm stuck on. I had to do some research on EEO to try to make this sound good....

A sound working knowledge of policies relating to Occupational Health, Safety and Welfare, EEO and personnel management standards as they relate to the scope of the position.

At every site at which I have worked, I have undertaken an OHS&W induction and I am aware of my responsibilities relating to OHS&W procedures. I make sure to stay current with the latest OHS&W policy and I am committed to play an active role in the promotion of a safe and healthy environment.

I also believe in EEO, and I firmly believe that all employees should be considered on the skills and individual merits they can bring to the position. All people should be treated with dignity and respect within the work place, and should have equal access to jobs based on their knowledge, skills and abilities.

Equal Opportunity benefits the workplace as staff feel valued and contribute to the best of their ability. EEO also encourages diversity, and Customer Service improves when staff diversity reflects customer diversity.

And now I'm going to go back to freaking out and trying to write some more. *freakoutfreakoutfreakout*

EDIT: and some more:

Excellent understanding of help desk practices, techniques and competency in providing help desk related activities in an IT environment

As I have worked in the DECS Customer Support Centre, I have gained knowledge of various help desk practices in relation to the IT environment. I am familiar with the levels of support available to myself and to clients

Do these noises happen all the time, or when you move your mouse?

Mine makes noises when I move my mouse.... I only hear it when I'm tired though and it drives me mad.

Karadur -- you've never used a CRT monitor? Are you one of those lucky people with a flat LCD monitor...?

Posted on 12-29-04 06:05 AM, in Spicy Food? Link
I don't mind a little bit of spice, but I have a fairly moderate tolerance of hot food. It also depends what it is... if it's a curry or something I really like but it's too warm, I'll tolerate the heat for a lot longer than with something I dislike. I don't go out of my way to buy hot food for the sake of buying hot food.

I like a few things though, and really enjoy hot food when I'm in the mood for it.

Oh, and I don't like these...

I don't know if it was the heat or the flavor as well, but after one of these I had to wash my mouth out. It *was* pretty hot... and not my cup of tea as far as flavor goes.
