Well, there apparently IS a soap that is caffeinated.

Maybe that is what I need in the morning to get me out of bed. I am NOT a morning person!

Im not a morning person either.

How does it work?? And where do you get it...? If its cheap, I would definitely try it. It sounds kinda interesting.

You can get it at places like ThinkGeek.

Here's the Octane Energy Gel
and the
Shower Shock Caffeinated Soap

200 freaking milligrams of caffeine absorbed through the skin with each wash?!

OMFG!!!

(EDIT: ....I want.)

I just want to see if it has any effect upon my usual morning routine of "get up, get ready, lurch to bus stop like a zombie".

I don't handle mornings very well at all, in fact they make me feel mildly ill if I get up real early.

I don't know whether to be impressed or terrified of the soap.

200milligrams!!

A Red Bull is only about 80 miligrams!

I have a reasonably low caffeine tolerance, so I'm guessing that'll be the end of 'lurching to the bus stop like a zombie". I'll probably freaking *skip* there!

Haven't checked your link, but I remember seeing this a few weeks ago on Slashdot and having a look.

I did find it interesting that while Linux absolutely shat itself, Windows on the other hand ... well... shat itself, but tried to pretend that it didn't

Or course, at least with the Linux machine, you KNEW Windows was broken, wheras with Windows, it was a little deceptive, and you only know when you reboot.

Oh, I forgot to mention what else happened when Domain Users all lost Administrative Access to the local machine.

-- Every single Windows NT computer in the place spontaneously bluescreened.

... and then everybody called Help Desk

Just wondering, what IRC clients can people recommend?

I am a Mac and Linux user..... not a Windows user. Can anybody recommend a good client for me?

(and would it maybe be an idea to have a sticky thread with IRC clients in it, or is that a bad idea?)

Okay, when I said I'm not a Windows user, I mean that... I'd use Linux or the Mac over Windows most the time, so in general I won't be using Windows. I am aware of mIRC

I have had trouble finding a Mac client though, I found a few but I remember at least one of them being really dodgy, so I kinda gave up.

I like limited accounts. I like the idea that if I do something stupid, it won't bork my whole system.

They're not real effective though in Windows (annoying, but not effective) wheras account limits in Mac and Linux are effective and mean you can't kill your system (but you can kill your home directory)

I used to dislike coffee, actually. I used to even hate so much as the smell of it.

I started liking it after high school, after going to a few cafes and having some really nice coffee....then I went hunting to find some coffee at home that I liked.

YD bought up Starbucks... we don't have that here, but this place called "Hudson's" has popped up everywhere, and they have fancy stuff. I tend to think that their stuff is overpriced though... there are a few "mom and pop" cafes that sell nice coffee at better prices. And some of them will bother to learn how you like your coffee too and make it just right.

Well, I bought myself a Stitch toy yesterday and it inspired me to make a Stitch pixel art.

This has taken me about... if I think about it, 1 hour last night, and about 5 hours today. 6 hours total, a great deal of which was spent manually antialiasing and getting that guitar to look okay.

I've already showed the guys in IRC this, but I'm posting this here now too.

Isn't stitch cute?

In my translation of Fruits Basket, they're called "Leeks". I like watching Kyou freak out in the Manga and the Anime, cause he hates them.

My Mum makes a good potato and leek soup I don't know the recipe though

Ah, I forgot to mention it, but it is based off official artwork, and I hope that I've stayed faithful to the official work.

My drawings of Stitch when I'm not basing it off official artwork are improving, but for that I wanted to concentrate more on my technique with pixelling and manual antialiasing than fiddling too much with linework, so I referenced official artwork

MICROSOFT BOB!!!!

That screenshot is awful, it's not even good pixel art!

Eh, I'm worried about the restrictions that they will put into Longhorn. I am becoming very concerned that Microsoft is enabling corporations (such as themselves) to take the control of the computer and your own files more and more OUT of the hands of the user.... and I very much hope that Longhorn does not enable this to happen. There have been a lot of things, "features" that have been discussed that have the potential to take control out of the hands of the user.

This is really interesting.

Anti-Spyware Test (Guide)

Somebody has done a test of several anti-spyware programs, to see which are the best. Very interesting reading. VERY worth a read if you want to know what antispyware to use.

Spybot Search and Destroy didn't come up the top.... but Ad-Aware got good ratings -- something I find relieving, considering that Ad-Aware is still my antispyware of choice after these years. (But I have a soft spot for Spybot too).

Again, I state that this is VERY much worth a read.

Yeah, the lines on the outside, kinda have to be jagged... well, not antialiased anyways. If I alias it, it won't do the transparency thing as well against all possible backgrounds, so I have to leave it as it is externally, and do what I can with the line internally

If I wasn't planning to do transparency though, I could manually antialias those lines too and get rid of the jaggies

I enjoyed it, but I wanna know what was up with the color changes.... if there's a special significance to it all, or not.

Fruits Basket you've already mentioned, but it's one of my favorites.

Kareshi Kanojo No Jiyou is a romance anime, and it is very very good. It ends a little strangely, but it is a very enjoyable anime (IMHO). It's by Gainax, and by the guy who did Evangelion, but as long as you expect Anno weirdness you'll love it.

Any Studio Ghibli anime, although romance isn't stressed in there, there is a bit in some (Princess Mononoke, for example).

While not romance, Azumanga Daioh is good, but a little quirky and silly. The only romance I've seen in it I'm not sure... if it's romantic love, or infatuation... but it's of the yuri variety....

I just remembered why I like Horatio Caine. He may have horribly cheesy lines and he's played by a horrible overactor, but.... I hate that blonde female CSI more.

I saw an ad for the first episode of CSI: New York. Scary...
