| I wish I had linkage to where I read this original idea, but (I can't be arsed, so) anyways: Here's an interesting idea: It's actually better for business (ie, plant) to be environmentally friendly. There are a few big BIG costs with a business (ie, the ones affected here), one of which is energy. Reusing and saving energy will keep costs down and make businesses more efficient, and more profitable. And of course, more environmentally friendly. It may have an impact on jobs in the short term, or it may require new people to be hired to implement and maintain energy saving ideas and systems. In the long term, it should lead to more efficient plants... if they can reuse their energy well, they're keeping their costs down, making more room for those fun fun profits. Just an idea. |

| I like Firefox. I like that it supports (mostly) standards compliant stuff. (the blink tag is NOT standard, but . Okay, so it's just annoying....) MOST pages should work in Firefox, a well coded page will look the same in both Firefox and IE. The only place that should make a big difference is when Active X is used. (urgh). I'm sorry, but I won't go near IE or any IE based browser with a forty foot pole unless I absolutely, positively HAVE to (ie, Windows Update, or the Active X based internal sites at work). If your complaint against Firefox is that it doesn't render properly, you are clearly visiting websites that are coded by people with no clue. |

Okay, I want a Gadget Widget then.  Eh, I was close. I think Gadgets are what Dashboard will call them (btw, Apple had the idea first, as early as 1984, so don't accuse them of stealing Konfabulator's idea...)I would like to see an ACS Widget though. One that lets you know roughly where you are in the ACS for the day, in real time. Make it green, like Colleen's ACS posts  |

| That too. Oh man, I forgot how irritating the blink tag is. I used it once for the first time in something like five years and I'm already irritated and annoyed. I'm sure all Mozilla/Firefox/Netscape users are. The standards compliance, with the exception of the proprietary blink code, is good with Firefox. You rest reasonably assured that you can code something in Firefox and it will work in all other browsers -- with the exception of IE, which may weird out if you use anything remotely cool. Like CSS, or PNG. |

| Yes, it is very slow. Thanks for that Course, I have mine from Mozilla's site as of two seconds ago, so I won't need it, but.. the Slashdotting and Farking have only just begun, so I guess others definitely WILL need it EDIT: Installed now. | I watch CSI, but it's repeats at the moment, so I haven't been watching. I have a low rerun threshold when it comes to a lot of things, particularly things where they unravel a mystery -- it's no fun when you already know what happens. I also watch CSI Miami, but I do like the original better. And on a slightly related note, i also enjoy Cold Case, which shows after CSI on Tuesday nights. And damn, I missed that tonight.  *goes to kick the Windows 98 box she spent all night fixing (only to have it die again) at the loss of quality TV time* |

| Plugins will work when they are ported over. Some of them won't initially, but they should all work in about a week. They just need minor upgrades to them.Adblock and Gmail notifier work outta-the-box. As for not liking Firefox, to each their own. I don't like the current versions of Opera, and haven't for a while (there was a particular release that did it, as I recall.) I've been a Firebird/Firefox user since As for the Google Homepage, that is interesting. There have been a lot of conspiracy theories flying about lately about Google releasing their own Firefox based browser... I don't think anybody expected a Google Firefox Page though. |

| Eh, there aren't really "official" threads, but the Firefox release has been posted already in Hardware Software (cause I was so happy I HAD to post about it, yay, Firefox, yayayayayay!) It'd be a good idea to post this in there too though There's also a mirror that FreeDOS posted in that thread as well.Course, I got mine from the Firefox site, but I don't know how -- Mozilla's servers were fairly borked. |
