The characters are from Osaka, which has a pronounced accent.

Clearly the idiots that dubbed the show think that a Southern accent is prolly the best alternative to an Osakan accent....

idiots.

The show is pretty good, but it is.. as I have described "Manic-Depressive". One minute is is manic, ridiculous, fast paced and silly. Then it's depressive, slow and emotional.

...And I like the third episode better than the second one

In the end, it all makes a coherent story...

All the doctors want to do is.... the next time it happens, they don't revive her.

Which, I think, considering the situation, is a fair thing to do. Sure, it's going to be very sad for the parents, but it'll also end the child's suffering. And while it'll be hard initially, I'd like to think that eventually the parents will be happy that their child died peacefully rather than suffering needlessly....

I'd hate not to be able to have a say in what happens if I were in the same situation.

Okay, yes, it is the parent's LEGAL right... but the question is, should it be?

Should there be some kind of line, some point at which the suffering of the person is too great, and with no gain... after which the doctors are able to make a judgement not to rescuscitate?

Yes, I know that gives doctors the power to "play god" a little, but at the moment the parents get to play that a little too....if they're deciding whether that child lives or dies, that's exactly what they're doing....

I think there needs to maybe be some kind of middle ground... some kind of point where it's not fair to ask a human being to keep being subjected to the pain....

Now that Jesper's mentioned it, he's reminded me of something.

I find Wednesdays rather full of woe. It's the day before pay day!

Personally, I wouldn't move anything old there.... new stuff, yes, but not old stuff.

I'd rather see the forum evolve by itself. It's cool to see which direction we'll take it

If you move old stuff there, you're kinda setting a tone for the forum, wheras I'd just like to see it evolve organically.... Again, cause I'd like to see which direction we all take it.

And seriously, I did whine for a long time I guess my whining/bitching/hassling/etc finally paid off!! I guess if you're annoying enough, people will do ANYTHING to shut you up!

Posted on 10-20-04 07:42 PM, in Thinking of getting an MP3 Jukebox- Advice needed Link
I have an iPod, but I investigated alternatives first before I bought it.

I find my sound quality to be just fine, although if I do have a dodgy file, I tend to notice. This can also be put down to the fact that it's playing *in my ear* so it's probably more obvious too.

My battery life is good. There are stories of batteries failing, but they have also been in cases where the iPod was used daily and charged daily, and this can be a little rough on any battery.

Personally, I like my iPod. It had the features I wanted, and the capacity I wanted... it was also the most intuitive to use.

The clickwheel is sheer joy. JOY!!

I use the Contacts feature to keep phone numbers handy that I need (cause I'm hopeless with remembering numbers), and addresses and other misc. Address Book info I need.

It stores my entire MP3 collection, so I can listen to any song I own at any time. That in itself is awesome. And it is pretty easy to navigate to find the song I want too.

And I can use it as an external Firewire or USB 2.0 Hard Drive to store extra stuff (ie, drawings, programs, etc)

That's why I picked the iPod. Your needs in an MP3 player might be different from mine.... so what you might want may vary... but, that's what motivated me to buy one of those gorgeous shiny pieces of white goodness......

Hmm... okay... if it worries you, maybe you should talk to somebody about it. They might send you to anger management courses or something, but... it might help

I don't feel the way you feel, btw. I'm generally only homicidal in the middle of severe, SEVERE bouts of depression.

Trust me, I've seen how these things evolve...

Some people's idea of controversy is a lot milder than others I wanna see where it sits in that scale... (so I know what I should, and should not post)

Well, it's time for me to go make more coffee.....

It's currently 7.44am... I am in a horrible, sleep deprived kinda pain.

My tendonitis is also coming back in my left wrist, so I may actually have to slow down with posting... But I don't really wanna...

I have been up at 6am every day for the past three or so weeks. I get to work at 7.15am... forty-five minutes earlier than I need to be, but there isn't a bus that will get me here closer to on time...

I am rediscovering that coffee makes you feel fan-fucking-tastic though when you're sleep deprived and tired... sure, I still feel tired, but I feel a much *better* kinda tired.

I'm wondering if my sleep deprivation has anything to do with my posting....

Eh, I think we have a healthy amount of females here. Better than some forums I've been to where I was the entire female portion of the board.

And yes, I'm really female, and hopefully the photo (not yet in photo album but in photo thread) proves it.

I need both.

I use Paint for isometric pixel art.

I use Photoshop for touching up pictures and resizing things.

Mostly I use Open Canvas or Painter...
