In my defense, he WAS being an arse.

You don't wanna know what Caffeine does to me if I have too much.

1 cup = bright eyed and bushy tailed
2 cup = getting weird. jumpy. fidgety. high blood rate
3 cup = insanity.

Or the red bull...

1 can = bright eyed and bushy tailed
2 can = OMFG

If I have too much caffeine, I can hear my heart pounding in my ears, my hands shake, I can feel blood coursing through a few of my veins, some of them actually throb, etc. I go into a freakout.

I drink a MAXIMUM of 2 cups of coffee a day.... or a MAX of 1 red bull. And I don't like Coke, so I avoid unless it's going with alcohol... I can go months without a cup of coffee or any other caffeine source.

Maybe that's why I've never liked Coke.... the caffeine might've affected me as a kid, and I might've just instinctively stayed away from it....

Eh, it was during one of the more... crazy.. moments, I've previously discussed in that suicide thread. So I wasn't exactly myself at the time.

But he was still being an arse.

I also can't have caffeine after midday, or I can't sleep.

Always been like this. Don't particularly want to seek building up a tolerance, as I might build up an addiction as well.

But with the early mornings at the moment, I need some caffeine so I don't nap on my desk. I have my phases like this, but never to the point where I **NEED** coffee or I get the shakes and withdrawl....

No, I'm not diabetic, but my father was.

I'm just very sensitive to Caffeine (though not drinking a lot of it, I guess)

I sooo thought you said "hence why awesome things take longer to do" then.

I think I need more coffee.

And yeah, decisions on forums generally suck. I think it's just how things go.

Me, I'll vote for the idea I like the best, I don't care whose it is

Should Courts have the power to let babies die?

This isn't the original article I was looking for, but it's discussing the same topic. The child in the story, Charlotte, has lived her entire short life in pain, being resuscitated and revived pretty well daily for her whole little life.

The doctors are sick of seeing her suffering, they don't think that the little baby deserves this pain, and they know that if Charlotte survives, she will always be a very, VERY sick little girl.

The next time the child needs to be revived, they don't want to resuscitate her.

The parents on the other hand, insist on the baby being kept alive.

Now, my question is, do you think it's fair to impose "aggressive lifesaving" on a human being that is suffering? Do you think that lives must be saved at all costs, regardless of pain, etc?

Or is saving a life in this manner just as much "playing god" as taking a life in the case of euthanasia?

There's a patch for the JPEG Vulnerability, I think.... not sure which one, but I'm pretty sure it's been patched, you just need to WindowsUpdate.

And when my video card overheated on my old PC, I lost icons on the desktop too....

See, personally I think it's a bit cruel to enforce "agressive lifesaving" on somebody. If somebody has been recuscitated every day for days, and days, in tremendous pain, and likely to come out of the whole thing seriously brain damaged, etc (as with this child), IF EVER, I kinda think it is selfish of the parents to insist that they keep the child alive.

The child can't even speak for themselves, they don't get to say "next time, don't revive me" like an adult can. Instead they just get subjected to whatever the parents say the doctors have to do.

The doctors can see how much pain the child is in, and that the child's chances of survival are pretty well nil.... but they have to keep reviving, over and over, and over, even though they know that the child is NEVER going to get better -- that this is what the kid's life is going to be, all their life. Sorry, I can't think of a better definition of the word "Hell" than that -- torment, and no end in sight (as long as they keep reviving her)

Frankly, I think that there should be some kind of line. I wouldn't want to be kept alive if I was in incredible pain ALL the time, with absolutely NO chance of getting better... if my body was trying to die (several times a day, every day), I wouldn't want to keep having death delayed because my family say I have to live, no matter how horrible that existence is. I'd rather my suffering be ended. And as an adult, I have the right to request that too.

But because this is a child who can't speak for themselves, she doesn't have the right to ask not to be revived -- she's at the whim of her parents.

I think what the parents are doing is cruel, and selfish. I think the doctors know it, and they want the child to die as peacefully as possible.

Oh, they have blue lemonade in Mt Gambier. Mt Gambier is an extinct volcano in my state -- in the centre of it, it has a lake, which is amazingly blue. It's called (creatively) the Blue Lake.

Blue Lemonade is obviously to cash in on this. It has no special flavor though, it's just colored.

Incidentally, the water from the taps in Mt Gambier has a blue tint....

Visually, it's stunning, but it doesn't draw you in very well.

It'd have a good story, if they made the viewer involved a little more. Instead, you feel like you're watching a rather disjointed set of events from a distance.

It is a beautiful, beautiful film, and I'm guessing if you're Japanese, it'd make a lot more sense....

But I never felt drawn into it, I didn't relate to the characters, and at the end, I was left with a "huh?" feeling.

But the art was so beautiful.

FF7 had a lot of Norse stuff, a lot of Hebrew stuff and a few other things in between. It was quite interesting.

I'd say FFVII had a "Cyberpunk" culture. Sure, that isn't a setting that actually physically exists (thank god!), but it sure as hell exists in literature, and FFVII had loads of it. It wasn't as gritty as some cyberpunk worlds (which are often very, very bleak) but it was a fairly bleak world...
