Hehe, I've been downloading some J-Pop too, Hiryuu. I have a little Bonnie Pink, some Megumi Hayashibara, etc... and I haven't listened to it yet, but I downloaded a new Utada Hikaru song to have a listen Somehow, it would suprise me to hear her music get a commercial release here though... ![]() Elmo -- haven't heard of most of what you mentioned, but I *have* heard of The Streets, and I have a bit of their music. I remember their previous album. As for finding things I enjoyed from when I was younger, I've been trying that too. Unfortunately, a lot of the stuff I liked was... I guess not mainstream back then, so now... bloody obscure. Obscure = hard to find. ![]() And another recommendation from me now: The Cat Empire -- "Hello Hello". I don't know what to call the Cat Empire's music. It has a blend of genres in it, so... all I can suggest is listen to this song, and then try to avoid saying "Hello Hello" later. ![]() |

Well, I've been drawing more Tarale in traditional Japanese clothing. This time she's a badass samurai bunny! ![]() Rurouni Tarale (link to deviantART) She's wearing a hakama and dogi, and carrying a katana and a wakizashi. The two worn together are called "daisho" dai (big) for the katana, and sho (small) for the wakizashi. I haven't drawn dogi, hakama, etc, before. I've tried drawing swords before, but I think I still need practice with that too. Oh well, I think it's all pretty good for what's pretty much a first attempt ![]() Plus, I gots to draw my cutesy bunny being a samurai badass. With love hearts on her sword and stuff. ; Okay, she's not very badass.... |

Just so you know, sprite pissing contests also go in Modern Art, not this forum ![]() *smacks the spriters in the back of the head* Now git! ![]() Yeah, anyways, art of all kinds goes in Modern Art. Drawings, paintings, photography, pixel art, etc, etc, etc, it goes in there. Spriting is effectively a type of Pixel Art, so it goes into Modern Art.Course, I'm more impressed if people can make their own sprites from scratch... *joins pissing contest* (Man, I must remember to fix up the funky animation in that sometime... ) |

Tanooki!!Tanooki. (Taa Nu Key), A Creature of Japanese Mythology, tanooki ar jovial creatures most often seen with a book in one hand and a bottle of saki in the other. With its large scrotum, yet smaller then usual member, the tanooki is also a shape shifter who is known to change its look and even its sex to further its sexual endevours. Tanooki have also been used in Japanese literature as assasins. Yeah, they're also meant to be magical and it's good luck to see one... |

| Yeah, there's been a bit of buzz with these kind of applications lately, particularly as the next version of OS X (Tiger) is going to have a built in function like this. I use "Quicksilver" on my Mac, and it's brilliant. I can find what I want so much quicker and easier. I want to open the Terminal? Click Quicksilver and type "ter" and it comes up and I can open it ![]() |

| I doubt it. On Apple hardware, Apple can control the PC a lot better, resulting in a more stable machine. They don't have to support every dodgy motherboard and obscure video card ever made, they just support the Apple hardware. If they move to PC, they will have to support the myriad of bizarre and quirky hardware out there, and it will result in a less stable machine. And some more information about Quicksilver. Mmm.. quicksilver. Easily the most frequently used and useful application on my PC, although I want to see how Apple integrate the same idea into the OS.... ![]() So a little different (edited by ChibiTaryn on 10-14-04 07:26 PM) |

Heh.. well, sorry to hear you don't like it Jill, and maybe I'll draw more traditional Japanese clothing on a character other than Tarale sometime. ![]() As for "Rurouni", I added that cause it does remind me of Kenshin, however it wasn't really based off of Kenshin as such, it was more an exercise in drawing a Hakama and Dogi. Because those were traditionally worn by Samurai, Tarale became a badass cutie samurai. ![]() With hearts, and a flowery katana sheath. Yeah.... |

| Our current PM is a spamming bastard. He hired his son to send out political spam on his behalf before the elections. Conveniently, there just happened to be a hole in the spam laws that enabled political people to do this.... Our PM also did some telemarketing spam, calling people with recorded messages. ... none of this made me like our PM, which is why I didn't vote for the fucker. But he got in... ![]() |

| Quicksilver for OS X does it stuff locally, and I don't think it searches files on mine, but it searches Bookmarks, Playlists, Applications, etc... I can set it up to search more stuff if I want, but I just find it incredibly handy to launch applications using it. Rather than browsing through Applications trying to find the stupid thing. |
