I sense some bitterness here. Your work isn't garbage *huggle*

Both pictures look good. I like the first one best, the colors really grab me, and I love the contrast with the black

Uh, so you can run OS X Which you can't do on anything other than a Mac. Being able to dual boot to Windows just means that you don't have to buy a PC in addition to the Mac.

And I <3 my allegedly inferior Mac

Hrm, I guess my hardware in my system is very well supported by Windows then? Maybe if you buy generic crap, you have an assload of problems. Buying name-brand products (Gigabyte, MSI, Sapphire, AMD, nVidia, etc) must really cut down on stability and lag issues

And I'd use a Mac, but you know, I do more than just surf the web, check email, and use IM clients. I game.

There ARE games for the Mac you know... but it does take longer for a lot of them to get there.

They'd all be useless on my particular Mac unfortunately, the old G4 iBook is about as gutless as Macs come. (Must... get... powerbook...... yesss....)

And yes, people who buy generic crap *do* tend to have an "assload of problems". Which is why I can't fathom why people buy some of it. But, people do, and I've seen all kinds of wacky, random shit in people's computers... I'm always surprised when it works properly, too.

What (if anything) do you guys do for exercise?

I've been swimming for nearly a month now. I used to swim as a kid/teen but gave it up when I found more fun things to do, like drinking. Now I've taken it up again and I swim 3 times a week (this morning I swam 2 km, yay).

I also walk a little, and I take the stairs at work a bit to try to build up the muscle in my right knee, which I seem to have injured...

What do you guys do for exercise?
(Note: typing is not exercise, and fapping is not exercise either...)

Windows is not going to become OS X any time soon. I'm sorry, but if you think that all there is to OS X is the eye candy, you REALLY need to go and educate yourself about OS X.

As for Windows being influenced by Mac OS (Classic OR X) well, that's been happening for years. Where do you think your Recycle Bin comes from? Mac OS has had a Trash can since the beginning of Mac OS -- back in 1984. Windows didn't have the Recycle Bin until Windows 95 was released...

Uh, a lot of OS X is eye candy. There's a lot of added functionality, but come on, anyone who's used it for more a few months can see that most of the production went into how it looked.

Yes, it is obvious that great care and attention to detail went into their OS's look and feel.

Still doesn't mean that that's all there is to OS X. If it were, then frankly it would be useless. Pretty, but useless.

Macs are good. They're not for everybody, but they're good. They're used a lot in both graphic arts and scientific fields, they're excellent for home use, and some people even use them as servers or development machines. I use one, and I love it. It doesn't do everything my Windows PC does, but then my Windows PC also doesn't do everything my Mac does

Yeah, I heard a little about this on the radio on the drive in to work. Not much, other than that it's now been classified as Category 5, and that a state of Emergency had been declared... the radio seemed short on any other details though.

Scary stuff...

I don't know what they mean by "wont work" but that's what they say. There's always bug fixes strictly for the Mac version in every patch too.

Hmm... but that doesn't mean that Macs suck... it means that the programmers who ported WoW to Mac did a really shitty job of it And are doing a fairly crappy job of fixing it too from the sounds of it.

Yiffy Kitten -- this is a little thing, but it's something I love that my Mac does that Windows doesn't -- Expose. Another little thing -- Spotlight. And yet another little thing -- asking for an Administrator password when you install something.

Actually, it's a lot of the little things that make me <3 OS X. They all add up to a really good user experience for me.

Oh, and there's all my abandonware Mac games too Mmm... stuntcopter... deliciously crappy

Ah, I just thought that the WoW stuff was bought up earlier in this thread (probably just games in general now I think of it) as an example of Mac suckiness.... while I remember, Office X sucks, until you patch it. My favorite bit is how when you change the font, it just crashes for no apparent reason.

Office 2004 is supposed to be better, but I haven't actually *run* it yet, just installed it. (I have little use for "Productivity" software at home....)

Picture of Aeris that I may, or may not, finish.... I don't know, probably the latter as I'm lazy.

OSX has command is as powerful as UNIX since command line did not come in until OSX. So I'm not sure what you are eluding to as in power of the command line...

But yeah, UNIX cmd utilities >>>> Windows cmd utilities

So it's a Unix command line? Niiiiice.

Yes, it is, because effectively Mac OS X is a variant of Unix. Specifically, OS X is built on top of Darwin -- based on FreeBSD and the Mach microkernel.

As such, you can port a lot of Linux and Unix applications to OS X, etc.

Which is one of the reasons I keep saying that there's a LOT more to OS X than "eye candy"

I considered putting this in the sketches thread, just as I don\'t think I really consider this to be a great piece of artwork -- this is more or less me messing around with openCanvas, getting carried away and coloring it...

I\'ve already put an Aeris sketch in the sketches thread -- and this is similar as both of the two pictures come from the same base sketch -- I didn\'t know what to do with it after a certain point, so the sketch \"forked\" into two different ones - one of Aeris and one of Rikku.

So, here\'s Rikku
