I'm looking forward to how that Rickenbacker turns out. It was fiddly, what with the left handedness and the detail and the fact that I don't know a fricken thing about guitars.... I believe I cursed guitars MANY times in the several hours I spent sketching, then inking it. My housemate (being a musician and all) came over and I told him if he nitpicked, I'd stab him with the stylus. He went "uhmmm" so I stabbed him anyways. For thinking it

Looks good to me. I like the textures, and it's quite visually appealing. It doesn't quite strike me as "decay" so much... sorta more... reminds me of a city being sucked into a vortex....

Regardless of how much money needs to be raised for hosting, I still think that the community needs to consider donation or something if they expect that this place continues to run. |
It's unfair of us as users to expect that this all be paid for by certain staff members. However, I would appreciate it if ||bass or somebody could let us know what's going on in regards to all of this a little more. I do feel a little bit left in the dark as to how much money is needed, etc.

Teddylot -- when it comes to putting thought into my artwork... well, I do. But the problem is, anytime anything actually means something to me, I can't get it onto paper or screen any way I try. I can see the picture fully formed in my head, but I can't... make it happen.... |
I only seem to be good at willing senseless fanart/anime art into existence. :-/ If it actually means something to me, I can't make it exist. God it's frustrating. I've been feeling really depressed and alone lately, and I was trying to express that with my art. Simple concept, just draw a girl standing alone under an umbrella in the rain, right? With people around, but all drawn back from her so that it's obvious she's alone, all of them faceless but staring at her... can't draw it. Have twenty sketches in my home directory, all fucked up. Not one of them is any good, not one of them looks anything like the picture in my head, not one of them conveys even 1/12th of how I feel. But I can make a throwaway fanart of Haruko come into existence. :-/

Hmm.... I use AVG Free at home, and find it to be fine. Although honestly after using a Mac for over a year now, I've started to forget all about virus software.. o.o |

For those of you who are not aware of this, NerdTV is a TV show broadcasted over the Internet. It's done by Bob Cringely, and he interviews different people within technology. I'm yet to watch an episode of it, but I find it interesting that this entire show is broadcasted entirely over the internet, freely downloadable, etc. The content looks interesting too (so I shall download when I get home). Has anybody here seen NerdTV? If so, what do you think of it? (note: this is in Hardware/Software as opposed to Entertainment as I think the content of NerdTV is probably better suited to here...)

Very shiny. Looks good to me, although perhaps a bit too perfect in shape... reminds me a lot of some Apple interface things, both by Apple and third-party developers and iconographers... |

I haven't seen a thread about this (but let me know if there is one). As some of you may be aware, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children has been leaked. There are a few torrents around of it with it all neatly translated and subtitled. (I'm not going to link to any, I'm sure you can find them without my help...) |
I've just finished watching it. Now... I'm a big fan of Final Fantasy VII, but I'm not sure if I was a big fan of this... I may have to watch it again, though to make up my mind... I will say that it's quite visually appealing. The characters look great. As I've found with most of Square's animation, the hair and eyes are very well done, but they're not all that good at making folds in clothing and stuff. The story is okay, but a little..."choppy" at the start (if that makes sense). The fight scenes are good, but just a touch... Matrix and/or Dragonball Z for my taste though. Entertaining, nonetheless... The original game soundtrack appears throughout the movie, in varying forms. Has anybody else seen it? Thoughts? Did you like it? | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
