Indie rock.

Maybe some emo, but like you said a lot of it is cheesy. There is some that isn't, but you have to dig a little deeper.

The fun as in most games I find myself, is in the online play. Nothing adds up to when you shoot someone whose manning a gun in a tank. Or you mow someone down with a fighter jet.

But if anyone wishes to play, give me a ring I believe my AIM is in my profile. Or PM even.

Yes, but there is a slight problem.

I absolutely, positively suck at Battlefield and all FPS games

Tell B you like her off your own bat.

Don't involve the information you have heard from A via C, just tell B you like her, that you've liked her for a while, and ask if she'd like to go see a movie.

Personally, I've always liked the idea of "transparent moderation". I first stumbled across it all at a forum called Whirlpool, which is the Australian Broadband Users Community.

I liked it no so much to "keep the staff honest" so much as I liked it as a user convenience tool.

Basically, when a moderator closed a thread, it said who closed it.
If a thread or post was deleted then an "empty" placeholder remained saying that thread (whatever) by (whomever) was deleted by (whomever).
If a thread or post was moved, then an empty placeholder thread remained in the old location, but linked to the new location, and said who moved it also.

I liked this as a user tool. I liked that if a thread was deleted or moved, it was VERY clear that it'd been deleted or moved, users didn't have to go hunting for a moved thread, or hunting for a deleted thread thinking it had been moved. It also alerted the user to who had done the moving / deleting / closing, so that anybody with a problem with it could ask the person why. (hopefully without being an arse).

It DOES have the side effect of being able to "keep tabs on" staff, but that's okay, as I think it's not a bad thing to ensure that those kinds of staffing actions are transparent either.

Course, I don't think I'll ever see such a feature / set of features but it's something that I'd certainly appreciate personally.

Hm... I'm quite a fan of Akira Yamaoka's music as well, so I'm pleasantly surprised by this

Hmm... that reminds me, I need to find somebody less wussy than me to play Silent Hill 3 while I watch and hide behind the couch (I'm too wussy to actually PLAY the games, but I really REALLY enjoy watching other people play Silent Hill...)

Wow... I need to spend more time on the board again. It's been a stressful few weeks for me lately.

Just a quickie....

Kym (my housemate) and I set up web filtering on our home network, to block out things like Jamster. I joked that when you go to a blocked page, a little animated Kym should pop up and wave his finger at you...

The end result of course, was this..

I don't know if I'm finished with it yet or not (I keep finding things that bother me). I had an older version you can view here too, but I've since lengthened the animation so he doesn't blink so frequently, lightened the linework and darkened some shadows... and fixed the hair...

... the finger-waving is also indicative of how our current complete joke of a friendship / relationship is going.... o.o

I'm fond of my gmail, but then I don't use it for anything confidential. I don't use all the space either, but the interface is very fast and clean and I'm happy with it.

I'm interested to see how thos GoogleTalk stuff plays out, there have been rumors for a LONG time about this. I have a Jabber account already too... interesting

I saw a little bit of this when Heath was being interviewed on one of those late night thingies (I don't know I wasn't paying much attention, i was knitting). It looked interesting, but I'm not sure if I'd go see it at the cinema or anything on what I've seen / heard about it yet... I am too cheap to spend the money right now (just bought a clothes dryer and it's cleaned out my bank balance)

Well, I'm not sure about "back" or "feeling better" but I'll try to stick around a little more again.

As for the symbolism... well, it wasn't initially intentional... it's just I've noticed it afterwards... evil little Kym... waving his finger at me... grr...
