Hmm... apparently the renaming of "Duke Nukem" to "Duke Nukum" by Apogee was nothing to do with Captain Planet and the Planeteers... at least, according to 3DRealms' site. |
Apparently it had to do with an overseas character they believed was copyrighted. It turned out that the character wasn't copyrighted, so for Duke Nukem II, the character was renamed back to "Nukem" not "Nukum" * is an old PC gaming geek*

I am a chocoholic |
I am also a chocolate snob. I don't touch things like Mars Bars, Reese's stuff, Cadbury's chocolate, etc. The texture and flavor of all of those are -- to me -- like eating compound chocolate. I am addicted to boutique chocolates. The only two widely available chocolates I like are "Lindt" chocolates, and "Guylian" chocolates. As far as boutique chocolates go, I'm addicted to Truffles. Particularly the "Ivory Truffles" they sell at a place here called Swiss Glory. The chocolates are handmade and mouthmeltingly exquisite. I adore the texture of the truffles.... so smooth... I love dark chocolate in small quantities. Good dark chocolate is hard to find. Too many companies make it too sweet; but I have found stuff that is too bitter too. White chocolate is now too sweet for my tastes to eat by itself. It's good with other stuff though.

What kind of ADSL modem do you have? Is it one that connects to your PC with a USB cable, or with a network cable? |
EDIT: *following above comment there was a short intermission in which I attempted to learn to play Battlefield Vietnam. I suck at it. I just don't get First Person Shooters* *cough* Okay, now to pick up where I left off.... We have a wireless network at my house (I am typing from my laptop in bed now... 3.26am (yawn) Our internet comes in through an ADSL Router; then a network cable goes from the Router to my Access Point (then of course, wirelessly to my Mac, and to my brother's PC).If you are able to, that is how I recommend you set things up too, but it depends on what kind of ADSL Modem/Router you have. If your ADSL Modem is the kind that plugs directly into your PC with a USB cable, you won't be able to do it the same way I do mine. However, you can get wireless cards for computers that will act like an Access Point and allow you to share the internet. My brother's wireless card allows him to set up his PC to act as an Access Point if he needs it to Anyways, below are some diagrams of how it could be set up... o.o Mine is set up kinda like the first diagram  If your Modem uses network connections rather than USB connections, then the first and third options should be possible, if not, then the second option should be do-able. If the router uses Network connections, it can also depend how many outgoing Network ports it has on it (mine has four). If it only has one, then that can limit your options as well.Uhm.. hope this makes sense, it's um.. now nearly 4am o.o (edited by Tarale on 07-23-05 02:05 PM)

At Acmlm's, I think I am percieved as.... * quiet * artistic * a "furry" My feeling towards this board: * light entertainment * friendly people * some people get too upset over things that happen here My goal/whatever: Modern Art, Modern Art, Modern Art Oh, and to try and help outI don't really go to too many forums enough to consider it. I haven't really "settled down" in a forum since the FFVII Citadel, so I always feel a little bit distant everywhere.

*hugs*And yes, I've decided that I probably won't be doing more than one a day during the week, as I work. On the bright side, that gives me a fair bit of time to work out who to draw (and how to draw some of the pictures too) and such, and it gives you guys plenty of time to get photos into the photo album I'm going to need to think about how to draw Nick's picture anime style; as I will admit that drawing anime in profile is not a strong point of mine....
