The dubs for the Studio Ghibli animes are reasonable. Occasionally the actors used gets slightly distracting, but generally the dubs are well done.

Well, it's looking very very good. I'm impressed I'm also mildly jealous that you can draw hands, but that's another story

Well, with that hand, I'm not sure what to suggest, but when I put my hand back behind me like that, it seems to bend backwards a little...

Your linework is very nice, and your shading is also good. You have a good sense of anatomy. I can see very little that I can think of that might need correcting. The ear seems a little small, and the lower leg also seems a bit... off... although I can't put my finger on why. The rest is excellently done, you've done a great job on chest and abdomen, some problem areas I have

And I'm going to put a warning in the thread title; because of the nudity -- simply because we might have some people viewing from work, or school, or with nosy parents hovering behind them For future reference -- if you post nudity in Modern Art (and you are MORE than welcome to) just put a warning in the thread title Cheers.

yea it is pretty bright, but i could put the backgrounds blur level down a bit, that would make it less brighter. But i'm not aloud to edit this one since it's been entered.

^^edited it. took off a layer, i kinda like the first better.

I like the first one better. Better uh... contrast.. might be the word I'm looking for.

Frankly though, I dunno. This kinda stuff isn't my fort

Hiryuu's already given you the solution to this, but let me explain something for future reference.

Stop errors are really easy to decipher.

The first number you get in a Stop error -- ALWAYS punch it into Google, and you'll get the Microsoft website telling you what the problem is.

The rest of the numbers -- the ones in the brackets -- are the parameters under which the error occurred, and for the most part, those can be ignored. You just want the first number

As far as problems go, I LOVE stop errors. They're one of the few things my clients (I work on a help desk) present with that I am able to give them a definitive answer on immediately Thanks Google! Thanks, Microsoft!

I voted "yes" although thinking on it, it's not so much pain as a general discomfort I feel which I think is mostly the taste.

No sir, I don't like it.

Take this test, the Beck Depression Inventory. It's a commonly used tool to determine how depressed a person is.

I suffer from clinical depression; and from time to time I take the test to see where I am. I'm currently unmedicated and untreated; and I score 34.

Where do you score?

If you score over 17, would you say you feel depressed often? Are you being treated for depression?

If you are being treated for depression -- what are you doing? Is it helping?

Just pondering.. things Thought it might be helpful to see what you guys're up to and stuff

Oh, right, I suppose I should make a better contribution to the topic than that. I dislike static, especially numerical depression tests. People's personalities and emotions vary so greatly that it's an insult, in my opinion, to ever try and attach a number to them. I also have a problem with tests like these because they are only used to decide whether or not to prescribe antidepressants, and some of you may remember that I am quite vehemently against psyche drugs.

We're all sad. We're all scared. That's what makes us human. Life would be utter hell if we were happy all the time. Happiness, in fact, loses it's meaning when it has no opposite; if there is no pain, we can know no pleasure, and if there is no suffering, we can know no bliss. I must say that I feel that being sad is not abnormal, even for extended periods of time. The teenage years are when we first really take in this whole crazy thing we call life, it's when that bubble our parents put us in pops and we first face up to the fact that there's a lot of terrible things in our world, all around us, all the time. It's natural and I think healthy to be sad about it.

What you need to do, I think, is come to accept the fact that there's a lot of horrible things in this world, but resign to the fact that you can't eliminate them all. You have to find purpose in life on your own. No drug, no test can ever give you hope. You can only search within, find what it is in this life that makes you happy and persue it. Not just passively, don't just persue it, leap to your feet and chase after it, running as fast as you can, for as long as you can, with all your might and mettle!

I think that people don't know how to live anymore. You see, life is what you make of it, so eat when you're hungry, sleep when your tired and have fun, because you're not going to be around for very long. Face up to the fact that you can't control everything in life, so let what my happen, simply happen.

The only person who can tell if you're truly depressed is you, and the only person who can make you feel better is you. Trust and believe in yourself foremost, and you'll do fine.

Well, that's very cute, but I don't think you get what I mean when I say Depression.

Clinical Depression is a lot different from just your average "depression", where you feel kinda bummed for a while, then kick yourself up the arse and get over it.

Clinical Depression is a condition in which your brain chemistry is actually altered and you lose the ability to even give yourself that kick up the arse. It royally sucks, because you feel trapped and powerless to help yourself. It can last for years on end, and some people have it for life.

It's even worse if you have it with a co-morbid condition, such as Generalised Anxiety Disorder.

I was "sad" in high school, for extended periods of time, and immediately after high school too. But what I felt in high school... has nothing on Clinical Depression. Clinical Depression isn't just feeling sad, sometimes it's flat out fucken SCARY.

As for the numbers (and the drugs) I agree; but I still find it an interesting tool to try to keep tabs on myself. Apparently at the moment, I'm not doing so great

Yeah, I don't like where it's going either.

I just wanted to make clear my stance on Depression. It's one thing to have depression, it's another to find that people don't take the problem seriously and assume that you can just "snap out of it" by thinking happy thoughts.

However, that's not what this discussion is about, so I don't want to hear any more debate about depression

I DO want to hear though -- how those who selected the bottom few options -- how you guys are coping with depression, and what you are doing to try to get better.

Like I said, I'm unmedicated, and otherwise untreated.

I live with people, and I find that doing so helps me. I don't get the opportunity to brood so much when I'm kept busy by those around me. Left alone, I will get a lot worse, but the fact that there are people there means I don't get the chance whether I like it or not.

I also tried seeing a psychologist / hypnotherapist last year, which was an interesting experience. I have felt subtly better since, and it was around then I stopped taking my medication, however the depression still remains, kinda like static noise in the background of everything.

How are you importing?

Are you using iTunes to import?

Do the files show in iTunes?

Try to make sure they are in MP3 format.

Try to make sure that the ID3 tags are up to date -- it tends to help make them easy to find on the iPod.

Well, I don't have iTunes on this machine, but yes, iTunes is the recommended way of doing it. I'll assume you're using Windows?

On my Mac, synching the iPod is something along these lines:

Plug cable into end of iPod
Plug firewire cable into port on side of iBook
iTunes automatically opens
iTunes determines which songs are new and which songs aren't. Transfers new songs over. During this time, the iPod asks that it is not disconnected.
When complete, iTunes notifies me that the update is complete
I ask the iPod to dismount; then I unplug it and chuck it in my handbag.

On the PC, I'm guessing you prolly wanna open iTunes first before plugging in the iPod.

It should pretty well do everything for you.

*big hug*

Well, I'm glad to hear you're better

I hope that going back to school goes smoothly for you. It probably will be a little weird, but as long as you look on it as an opportunity to meet new people and such, it'll be good

Congrats on feeling better

I dislike telemarketers, but I don't get many calls from them.

Last one I got the telemarketer went "Hello little girl, can I speak to your mommy?" so I hung up. I don't sound that young..
