| Selectable ranks might be good (such as using the current one like one of several predefined ones in the profile), but it's the hell ripping and setting up stuff ... I planned to use enemies from Rudra in an own AcmlmBoard, but when I think that some of the sprites use an insane amount of frames in their animations ... with my laziness ... The current ranks are just fitting perfectlx here ... It's a ROM hacking board, and the Marioish sprites are just the right ranks with that theme ^^ |

| I doubt anyone knows my old user ID, but I'll leave the question open (I know it) As for the new one, #29, it is like a new beginning. I was no oldbie on the old board, since I regged in July/August 2002, but being a semi-oldbie on that new board and below the first thirty users ... that fits just well for me |

| Only the most or most recent active already registered first ... other people were more inactive and maybe were not interested in the board that much ... but to see 50+ users in IRC #acmlm, which was like the replacement for the missing board , proves my thesis here I registered on 06 - 09 - 02 in the olad board |

| It's kinda hard to guess where I had my username from Originally I registered the account GandalfTheSorcerer (without spaces), since the current one was taken; then I asked it to rename it to the current one ... yes, the capitaliazation of "The" had a purpose On the other hand, I'm far more a Rudora no Hihou fanatic, since my avatar and my entire post layout is based on that woot game ... I already had the fitting name "Surlent" ... but the good ol' name got a part from me over time, since I'm using it in every board I'm registered; so I'm keeping this three word nickname monstrum, although people use to call me with the first name usually |

| Try it out first if you can ... you probably want to know if the event and other command can be handled as good as in RM2k/RM2k3; if only the graphics are nice but the editor itself sucks, I won't buy it |

| He's a SMW ROM hacker ... he opened a thread in another forum about TSRP 1 and Lunar Magic (I won't link to the forum since it also provides ROMs). Some people got interested, I was the only one who also registered on the "fitting" board to LM (all others just downloaded the editor) and got here suddenly His demos from the hack "The Second Reality Project 2" are just the best hacks I've ever played. | When I was using still Opera 6.0.5, there already was a plugin for that browser to show MNGs, since I installed it then The format might be neat; just imagine the advantages from PNGs in animated image files; the ability to use an alpha-channel, semi-tranparency and an accordingly low file size  If MNG was more popular, I would rip my avatar new, setting up from PNGs instead of GIFs |

| I think a feature do dissalow certain users to use HTML in post layouts might be good. Or maybe a personal option to disallow HTML in posts and profiles to be seen be someone. Although the post layout feature is really nice, some people can do evil things with it  |

| I'm against it, it's useless. What I would adore, is a e-mail validation via user. So this feature is used in common boards like phpBB since a longer time, it makes itself a good feature to prevent some idiots and people from abusing or trolling around here. | Errr ... iirc, the most dial-up users have dynamic IPs, such as me; I'm using an ISDN flatrate and except for the begining my IP changes every seesion, while DSL users have a fixed IP address |

| An e-mail validation at registration would also be the basis for a retrieve-password-via-mail system; so if you forgot your password, you simply clicked on "Forgotten password ?", entered your user name, then the board could send the passwort to the current e-mail adress set in the profile It's a safer way than asking an admin to put a new password in (edited by Gandalf The Grey on 03-15-04 06:19 PM) |
