Neat! I noticed a Mario on a Yellow Yoshi before, but I never really paid to much attention... I wonder wha other date-activated features are in LM? |

I remember seeing someone on TechTV (on the screensavers i think) that build an NES PC or two... Let me search for it... http://www.techtv.com/screensavers/howto/story/0,24330,3450815,00.html http://www.junkmachine.com/nintendo/ The first is the Screensavers Story, the second is the tutorial. |

ahem... TADA! My new layout! I just hope Tripod doesn't get stupid again and you can see it... if not... check it out here... http://members.tripod.com/jeffreymr/board/bg.txt (Rename to JPG) For those interested (I'm guessing very few) I used: + Nullsoft AVS 2.80 + Adobe Photoshop 7 + Microsoft Frontpage 2000 And now, just like all my other layouts, I have to check if the scrollbar works... You think I'd just right down the html somewhere instead of starting from scratch everytime, but NO! I have to be stupid! | | | | | | | | | | | | | | (This Should Be Far Enough ) | \/ This concludes the layout test. Put all pencils down and bring all test papers to the front... |

When I design images, I use BMP ONLY if I plan to print the image. I burn a lot of CDs, and go all out with the labels. Right now I've got 50 megs of BMP sitting on the harddrive waiting for my new printer....

Using Outlook Express, eh? Try Cloudmark Spamnet: http://www.cloudmark.com/products/spamnet/download/. It's not free, but it works REALLY well. It's like a P2P spam-blocking network. If you block an email, it will be added to a database, which will be used to help block other's spam. It all gets tucked away into a SPAM folder, which you can sift through and delete accordingly... It's not free anymore, but you can get a 30 day trial... Maybe if you like it, you will EDIT: I got all those "Re: Your (fill in the blank)" emails once. Thank God for Norton. It's good for something. (edited by JefF on 03-17-04 10:47 PM) |

Okay, I get the point... this layout was not the way to go... I'll get working on a new one soon... I'll: +choose a not-so-bright, lower contrast image... +make it smaller height-wise. I thought it was good while I was making it, but it ain't as good when it's in here... It's 606x500 now, I'm try 606x300 or 350. +AVOID THE DREADED SCROLLBAR! +do any other things you suggest. Any advice would be helpful at this point. EDIT: Maybe I'll try a metal block layout, similar to what my User Pic is. I'll add bolts and stuff to spice it up. (edited by JefF on 03-18-04 05:31 PM) |

Alrighty then, here's my 2nd new layout! This time, I did still use the scrollbar, but now I use a smaller font. Meaning the scrollbar will not be used as often. (I still need to test it.) Can someone test this layout in Mozilla/Netscape/Non-IE brower so I know it works properly? Thanks in advance. Originally posted by ChibiTarynIs this Valid code? I don't know, hence the reason I wanted it to be tested.... If it doesn't work this time, can someone suggest an alternative to a scrollbar? Preferable one that doesn't limit the layout? Surverus: Thanks for the praise! Geno: Thanks for the praise as well! I might change the blue bar to a silver or gold bar. And I think the rainbow background might be used in my next wallpaper collection... |

I took Geno's suggestion, and now I have a metal gradient bar made with my nifty metal texture (might I add simple and homemade)... I must thank you for your idea! So now I know it works in most browsers! Thanks guys! EDIT: Fixed width issue... EDIT2: CRAP! I made it worse.... try again! I would like to see an editor for this game as well... However, my rom must be corrupt, as it freezes at the end of world scorecard... I guess I'll DL a new one later...

Luigi: It should be fixed now... Acmlm: I just resized the text cell, and did a trial and error in IE/Frontpage.... FreeDOS: Good? Only Good? Just kidding! Thanks for the compliment! EDIT: Fixed scrollbar colors... apparently I forgot an option, and the color of the main IE scrollbar would be used... (edited by JefF on 03-18-04 11:25 PM) |

For the local science fair this year, I'm doing a computer-controlled/automated greenhouse model using VB6 and a PC Gadget Master II kit. I would like to know if it is possible to view a live feed (or pics every 5-10 secs) from a USB Webcam (A Logitech Quickcam Express). If it is possible, what kind of program/module/etc would I need to have? If anyone can suggest such a file (preferably FREE), it would be GREATLY appreciated!

I'd recommend Cyberlink PowerDVD XP. Unfortunatly, it's not free, but there is a free trial. It does have a working screen capture feature. I believe it outputs full resolution BMPs, but not quite sure. It's been a while since I last used it... And another good feature too... you can load IFOs and VOBs straight from the hard-disk! Excellent for testing DVDs before you burn them... it saved me a couple of DVD+Rs! |

Are there any good ( and free ) Macromedia Flash (swf) to AVI converters? I've tried Magic SWF2AVI trial, but it didn't work for me. I'm trying to convert Trooperclerks (part 1 & 2), a Kevin Smith/Star Wars Parody. |

I know this is two threads in a row... I recently got a new PC (YAY!) with a DVD+/- Burner. I have made some attemps at burning downloaded videos, but I'm having a problem... ASPECT RATIOS. To encode the video, i use TMPGEnc Plus, using the NTSC 16:9 preset. (Most of my downloaded AVIs are Widescreen). I set the arrangement setting to whatever looks best in the preview window, but when I actually try to play the encoded files, they are either squat or stretched vertically! Can anyone help me? Thanks EDIT: I'm also having trouble with certain AVIs. According to VirtualDub, they have a few Bad Frames. Is there any way to fix this WITHOUT redownloading the file... (i'm still on dialup, and downloading movies at school is really hard, theyr'e deleted several times a month) (edited by JefF on 04-22-04 08:07 PM) |

Thanks! I'll try this out! EDIT: Um, I can't open the SWF file in Flash MX... And Magic SWF2AVI crashes when exporting a TGA sequence... and besides, what about audio? Anyone else know a good WORKING way to convert SWF to AVI? (edited by JefF on 04-25-04 09:09 PM) |

Originally posted by Yiffy KittenThis would work, however, none of the aspect ratios match the video i'm encoding... it's 2.37:1 (528x222). The closest option in TMPGEnc is 2.11:1. I guess I'll just center the video and use a custom size (720x303). It's not exactly the same aspect ratio, but it's fairly close. I just hope it will look alright on my DVD player... |

I'm leaning towards YES, but I'd like to see some screenshots before I make a decision. |
