Those are all good, myself I like

Zacky from Avenged Sevenfold

Chris Cappelli from It Dies Today

Kris Norris from Darkest Hour

Ken Susi from Unearth

Nick Hipa from As I lay Dying

Guess it depends more on your taste, I like fast guitar play and they way they all play is amazing.

The beliefs, but I dont like to judge people who do drink, smoke, etc.

Alot of people dont categorize bands, I just categorize it based on sound or what they call themselves.

Straying from the reason of this forum, so ill stop

Nice to meet you all and hope to be here awhile.

Listening to come back kid - Wake up the dead

Its pretty much about how alot of people arent living to their full potential. Like having a dead end job. Waking up the dead as in people who are living like zombies they are alive but not actually living their life.

The lyrics are like most hardcore/straight-edge lyrics..uplifting and empowering.

hmm, yeah you bring up some good points about sXe, I never said it was the best quality music I listen to a variety of genre's myself. Im not going to argue about if its a fad or not. For some people it is a way of life.

I will disagree on your assumption of hardcore, now rock and roll has always been about partying and materalism. Hardcore has nothing at all to do with what you do after the show, who you screw or what you put up your nose. Hardcore is purely and simply a style of music.

Now about the X's on the hand, it is a show of solidarity and its kinda stupid to do it all the time. Doing it during shows is fun of course. The X's were originally used when kids who were too young to drink had to be marked with them during shows. Older people who became straight-edge starting doing it so they wouldnt be offered alcohol. Ever since then it been used.

Straight-edge is more so about self-empowering and discipline, obviously if you dont want to drink your not going to. Theres no discipline in that, now say the fact that I eat alot healtier now is self discipline. Id much rather eat what I want but its a lfiestyle choice and one that suits me well. I dont adverstive it.

By the way straight-edge itself goes back to the 80's, and as for myself I dont think a widely unknown thing such as sXe being a fad. Now emo is a different story..

Sorry if this is way off topic of the newbie forum.

Theres always Runescape, which has gotten like a million times more popular than when I used to use it.

The graphics leave alot to be desired (java) but if you dont have broadband it's a good alternative.

Dont worry I dont get too easily offended about music, something that is 100 percent based on opinion.

Plus I can always bring up Celine Dion

Aug 23rd for myself

Besides seeing my girlfriend less and less time to do things, I dont have a problem with school. I live in a small town and every knows each other. Its for the most part a good time.

Only bad part is after school is 6 hours of work.

Aw you went to warped, yeah im jealous.

Around here im friends with the local bands so its pretty much just local show after local show. You cant really crowd surf with 20-100 people in a dinky YMCA building.

I wouldnt go as far as saying religion sucks. It has positive and negative affects. Such as it is a unifying force of people with closely related beliefs. This definelty is a positive affect and it still does help alot of people out.

Trying to judge other people by your own beliefs isnt a smart thing to do, it just pushes people further away from you and your ideals.

They still stand for community and a healthy outlook on life. Dont completely rule it out as bad, not one person represents a movement and the same goes for the christian religion.

Human nature likes to harp on the negatives without looking at the positives.
