Oh, I didn't even mention Mr. Bungle's "Squeeze Me Macaroni"... Another wack job sex-driven song...with food.

I wanna lock Betty Crocker in the kitchen
And knock her upper during supper
Clutter up her butter gutter
Hostess Ding Dong wrapped an eggroll around my wong
While Dolly Madison proceded to ping my pong
Your Milky Way is M'n'M in your britches
And I'll tell you Baby Ruth it looks mighty delicious
Keep blowing my gum, cuz here I come
I'm gonna get you all sticky with my Bubble Yum

Knick knack paddywhack and give your dog a bone, baby

I was givin' some head to some french bread
It was a four course orgy on the spread of my bed
French kissin' french fries in my Fruit of the Looms
I get deeper penetration with a fork and a spoon

I got yogurt meat loaf smeared all over my ass
I stick my weiner in two buns and and then give it the gas
Sour cream from my spleen into Levi jeans
Gonna bust the seams with my refried beans

Ronald McDonald just loves to be fondled
With Big Mac he'll fuck it like a Chicken McNugget
Colonel Sanders wants to goose Granny's loose caboose
He's gonna give her a boost with that Kentucky fried juice
Sooper doop poop scoop, loop de loop, chicken coop
Shoot some hoop, top sirloin from the groin
Topped with dick cheese, sneeze, wheeze,
From the skeez disease, wooi!

Take a dump, baby, squirt some gravy
Pour some sugar on me, honey, make it brown & runny
Give a little Flavor Flav, back from the grave
Gonna burn some toast, pump some humpin' rump roast

Knick knack paddywhack, jump in the sack, in fact
Jerk the smack and crack Jack from the back
Bananarama or ramabanana
Fuckin' Barry Manilow on the Copa Cabana

Squeeze me macaroni, slop your face with my bologna

You gotta syphon the spinach, you gotta cream the corn
Sperm scrambles the eggs and a meal is born
Cookin' like a beginner, but I'm goin' up in her
I had Fritos for lunch I'm havin' bush for dinner
Chef Boyardee and the Three Muskateers
Shove Charleston Chews in their rears like queers
"Holy moly, guacamole!" said my Chips Ahoy
I'm gonna pinch a ravioli on the Pillsbury dough boy

Knick knack paddywhack and give your dog a boner, baby

We came to pottie...we came to pottie down your throat

Besides the lyrical content being wacked, it's also insanely well executed.

Switch to OGGs. Sound better, take up less hard drive space.

You need an actual SACD player to listen to it correctly.

I'm not sure if it's the case with all SACDs ('cos I know almost nothing about the format), but in the case of the deluxe edition of NIN's The Downward Spiral, the album's in 5.1 surround. It's a hybrid disc though, so it's an SACD and a CD, so you can still play it in normal CD players. There's also a DVD-A version of the album, which is also in 5.1.

Prog rock hasn't even been progressive for, oh...over 20 years. The term prog rock is used now to define a certain sound.

The new Chocolate Factory movie doesn't look too appealing. The original is very well done; Gene Wilder is amazing in it. Johnny Depp, while extraordinarily cool, could never play that role as good, especially with how ugly they make him look. Plus, why would you need a darker movie... The original's already pretty messed up and sort of dark in a way. That whole part on the boat, the psychedelic scene...that's freaky without being over the top and dumb.

Never read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but I do love the first movie.

I don't know why you're focused on just Finnish metal, when there's all of Scandinavia, other parts of Europe, and North America (and I'm sure all other parts of the world too) that put out extraordinary metal as well. But, since you want something Finnish, I suggest ...and Oceans. They're kinda like...electro black metal. I wouldn't call 'em industrial black metal, and I wouldn't rightly even call them black metal, but oh well, I'm stickin' to the label. :P Check out AM GOD: Allotropic/Metamorphic - Genesis of Dimorphism and Cypher. Awesome albums.

The Royal Tenenbaums is such a cool movie. I watched it just yesterday. I really wanna buy it now.

Got these from eBay:

Pet Shop Boys - Please/Further Listening 1984-1986
Pet Shop Boys - Actually/Further Listening 1987-1988

Now I just need to get Bilingual/Further Listening 1995-1997 and Nightlife and I'll have all of PSB's main albums.

The Renholder remix of "Judith" is so good. Well, it's not fantastically good...but it is produced and remixed by Joshua Eustis of Telefon Tel Aviv. (I honestly can't hear what Danny Lohner had to do with that remix. The same goes for the remix of "Where Is Everybody?" on Nine Inch Nails' Things Falling Apart, which is also a very Telefon Tel Aviv-sounding remix. Same with the violin remix of "The Frail" from the same CD, which is also produced by Eustis. I suppose Lohner added the edge on the two remixes, since TTA songs are very laid back.)

Anyway, anyway... No, I haven't checked out this DVD, or the CD eMOTIVe. Judging by "The Nurse Who Loved Me", APC sucks ass at doing covers, and besides, I hate Thirteenth Step. APC's first album is real good...but damn did they reach suck status quick. And Maynard! Good lord... His voice just pisses me off throughout all of Thirteenth Step. Something about him now, some way he's using his voice differently...it's just pissing me off. He sounds very irritating now. He's certainly not the god (anymore, anyway) people claim he is. I LOVE his vocal performance on Puscifer's "REV 22:20", however. Especially that yell... He's always been good at yelling.

No. The best Canadian band is... *points at sig*

But...as far as metal goes...I really like Ion Dissonance and Strapping Young Lad...probably the only two Canadian metal bands I've heard.

COB is just power metal with black/death vox that aren't even that good. I got tired of them very quickly, although Hate Crew Deathroll is still kind of a fun, stupid album to listen to once every few months. Follow the Reaper bores the fucking hell out of me, but Hatebreeder is OK.

CD.
Barry Adamson - The King of Nothing Hill
Felix da Housecat - Kittenz and Thee Glitz [US Bonus Tracks]
Felix da Housecat - Devin Dazzle & the Neon Fever
Kylie Minogue - Light Years [Special Edition]
Self - Gizmodgery [Japanese import]

Video game.
Street Fighter Anniversary Collection (plus two Street Fighter PS2 controllers, one Ken and one Ryu. :o Want a Chun-Li now, and--when she comes out--Cammy.)

I really wanna get Katamari Damacy for PS2... Watched a friend play it, and it looks mad frickin' fun. And, it's only $20 retail price. Gonna rent Capcom Fighting Evolution, see if that's any good... Damn, do I ever suck at Hyper Street Fighter II, though. I have trouble winning the first fight on the easiest difficulty level!

Holding back on DVD purchase from now on (except for TV series and concert/music video DVDs). Gonna save my money for Blu-ray movies instead.

396 CDs currently. I have 5 more on the way. But that's only when counting a double album or a box set as one CD...

A lot of it's shit I don't have interest in, though. Like, once I went on a big metal spree...just buying CDs that were like $9 a piece, something I thought I might have interest in...but that's all been sitting on my desk, unlistened, since mid-summer. And there are other CDs I just don't listen to very often... I gotta lay back on buying CDs and download 'em first to see if I want 'em.

How the fuck can anyone call the first DKC "crap"? That's absurd!

I give DKC a 9.5, and DKC2 a solid 10. It's my second favorite game, right after Yoshi's Island. DKC3 is a very fun game, but I'm kind of appalled by a lot of the music and the character designs. It's quite a decline in aesthetic greatness...

I couldn't be arsed to give each of my CDs a rating...especially since I'd have to be doing a LOT of updating. Think about a certain CD in a certain light one moment...think about it differenty another moment. And there are CDs there I haven't even listened to, not even once... Probably about 30.

The first DKC wasn't innovative? It had simple game mechanics, but it certainly was innovative. It didn't much feel like other games at the time. And the graphics were just superb, and still are.

Fuckin' right throb. and >tension filter< are good albums. Well, the latter is OK anyway; I much prefer :funkyhell: over it, but throb. is probably my favorite from haloblack.

Since you're digging haloblack, I suggest h3llb3nt if you haven't listened to them already. It's got bryan black of haloblack, but also Eric Powell from 16 Volt, Jared Louche from Chemlab, and Charles Levi (bassist) from My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult. Hardcore Vanilla is one of my favorite electronic albums. It's very original and is pretty diverse. The other h3llb3nt albums are good, but nowhere near the masterpiece that HV is.

And, speaking of bryan black...he's been working hard on another band called xlover. They're pretty neat...not sure how to describe 'em, but they've got a chick vocalist, and Felix da Housecat has been doing production work for them. xlover's supposed to come out with a full length album soon, so I'm really looking forward to it and hoping that Felix co-produces (with bryan, since he's a phenomenal producer himself) the whole thing.

Posted on 01-07-05 10:35 AM, in Self's 'Gizmodgery' - an album performed entirely with toys and toy instruments. Link
It's a neat idea, is it not? I think so...so screw you if you say otherwise.

So anyhow...Self's this fantastical pop rock band, lead by Matt Mahaffey, who writes, performs, and produces most of the music, and sings too. He's got a very cool sound...and writes excellent hook-filled pop tunes. And he's got this fascination with Prince...

So, Self's fourth album is all performed with toy instruments, with other toys making, you know, other noises 'n' stuff. Toy drum kits, guitars, keyboards, etc. (The CD insert has a list of all the toys.) Of course, there's also some manipulation of the sounds, what with the way it's produced and all...but still, it's very unique how Gizmodgery was done.

I'd think maybe people here would like it. Maybe.

Self CDs are rare, by the way. Out of print, except Subliminal Plastic Motives and Breakfast with Girls (both also very good albums). And there's another one that should have come out, is all finished...but there are label disputes, so as of now, it's unreleased.

If you'd like to hear some Self by LEGAL means, you can always go to Selfmusic.net and Selfies. The former is the official site, and has a jukebox with a lot of B-sides (and they're all great; I especially enjoy the first one that plays, "No B-sides"). The latter is an affiliate, and has lots of info and MP3 downloads--live tracks, Internet-only albums, stuff like that. Check that stuff out.

If anyone's interested, I could rip the 3 CDs I have and put them up on Soulseek or give 'em to you through AIM.
