| You mean Donnie Darko, and it's a tripe film. | |||

| Clutch is supposed to be supremely rad... Apparently they have that southern rock/metal sound, which I love. Anyhoo, more DVDs: Dead Alive Macross Plus: The Collection The Transformers: The Movie [Special Collector's Edition] Dead Alive (I think I much prefer the title Braindead) is downright hilarious, and gruesome. |

Originally posted by Ziff Well, the DVD's supposedly an uncut version, and the lawnmower scene did seem kind of long, so I assume it's extended from whatever was shown in theaters. What a heavily amusing and violent movie. |

| I don't like them all too much. Hatebreeder is a pretty rad album, though. If you're going to get a COB album, I'd suggest that one. | |||

Originally posted by O.G. I recently found out that the special edition DVD of this movie is non-anamorphic. Quite a drag... I don't have a widescreen TV now, but for when I do get one, I'd prefer my movies not to look like crap on it. Got some CDs: Leng Tch'e - The Process of Elimination Rotten Sound - Exit And a good number of DVDs (most of them for cheap, ranging from $5 to $10): American Graffiti [Collector's Edition] BASEketball The Exorcist III (William Peter Blatty's) Fatal Attraction [Special Collector's Edition] The Man from Snowy River The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! The Ren & Stimpy Show: Seasons Three and a Half-ish Rose Red (Stephen King's) [Deluxe Edition] Sealab 2021: Season Three Shriek If You Know What I Did Last Friday the 13th A Tale of Two Sisters Uncle Buck Vanilla Sky I wanted to get Tremors, just under $10 at Wal-Mart, but that's non-anamorphic... I also wanted Death Becomes Her, but that's not even widescreen (they never released it widescreen). Boooogus. Meanwhile, there are region 2 DVDs of the three non-anamorphic widescreen movies mentioned in this post that ARE anamorphic! Why not some region 1 love? | They look legit. I mean, after all, The Rock is in those pictures, and he's to play a lead role. Apparently the character Karl Urban plays is named John Grimm. I don't know anything about the director. He's only recently gotten in the director's chair; all the other movies he's worked on he's worked as a cinematographer. Hell, I don't know anything about any of the crew listed on All Movie Guide. |

| There's quite a few video game- and cartoon-based movies in the works or being planned, most of them I'm sure will turn out to be shite, but I'm excited for them anyway. Silent Hill (this one HAS to be good, it's written by Roger Avary and directed by Christophe Gans, who are said to be big SH fans, especially Christophe), DOOM, Alice (unfortunately starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, who doesn't even look like an Alice), Oz (the American McGee game that never was...now being made into a trilogy of movies written by McGee), Transformers (wild... I don't know how this'll turn out), and I'm sure several more that I just can't think of right now; but then there are all the Uwe Boll movies, which I'm sure will be turds and I don't care about. (I haven't actually seen one of his movies, though... I should rent House of the Dead and see if it's really as bad as everyone says.) | |||

Originally posted by Ziff Precisely what I'm thinking. Especially since SH also has the editor from BOTW, who is a REALLY good editor and is perfect, I think, for a Silent Hill movie. |

| Earth Girls Are Easy [Special Edition] Girl, Interrupted Johnny Dangerously Swing Kids Top Secret! I bet Top Secret! is going to be the only great one out of these, the rest being mediocre. Oh well, $5.50 each... Not a big loss. I wanted to get Airplane!, but didn't see it. Only saw the sequel, which I heard sucks. Also saw the third Naked Gun...but I hear that sucks, too. Wish Wal-Mart had the second... And I wish Police Squad! would get released on DVD! |

Originally posted by O.G. Braveheart and The Passion of the Christ are crummy movies? They're both excellent, and this new movie sounds interesting (especially since the movie might not have a star). |

| Braveheart is very historically inaccurate, and the Scottish and Irish accents aren't realistic, but it's still my favorite movie. I think it's written superbly well, and I love the acting, music, and directing (I'm a fan of the shaky-camera battle scenes as well). | |||

| The movie's freaking gold. I'm just pissed I can't find it. A month or so ago, I saw it at Wal-Mart for real cheap. I didn't have money at the time and didn't think about it again till just recently. It's not there, only the sequel is. What a drag... I managed to pick up Top Secret!, The Naked Gun, Hot Shots!, and Hot Shots! Part Deux for real cheap, though. (Same with Shriek If You Know What I Did Last Friday the 13th, which is a hilarious horror spoof movie with humor along the lines of the movies mentioned above. At one point in the movie, they're trying to decide on a movie to watch, and even mention Hot Shots!, Airplane!, and The Naked Gun.) I recently got BASEketball as well... I was expecting this movie to be real funny, but I didn't laugh much. I thought that Trey Parker and Matt Stone plus David Zucker would equal a hilarious movie, but it didn't, 'cos it was approached all wrong (I'm sure it's 'cos of the two nobody screenwriters). It shoulda been written by Parker, Stone, and Zucker... Probably woulda been funny that way. (edited by Abnormal Freak on 07-22-05 09:47 PM) |

| Bill & Ted's Most Excellent Collection Panic Room [Superbit] Panic Room was $5.50, so why not. Never seen it, can't be too terrible...I hope. The Bill & Ted box set was just under $20! |

I'm fully aware of how Superbit DVDs have nothing but the movie unless a second disc comes with it. There's a 3-disc set for like $30... I don't like to spend so much on a movie unless I love it. And even a lot of the movies I love that I own, I haven't yet gotten to watching the extras. Nifty stuff a lot of the time...but the movie's what I care about most. I really don't wanna pay big money for extras of a movie I might not even like. :p |

| Fuckin' right! It's coming, the Lost Episodes DVD set, November 8th! All of the Ren & Stimpy: Adult Party Cartoon episodes, all 9, including the ones that never aired, on DVD with nifty extras. Then eventually, comes the Ultimate Ren & Stimpy box set, which contains ALL episodes of Ren & Stimpy ever made--the original Spumco episodes (seasons 1 and 2) led by the creator John K., COMPLETELY uncut this time (unlike the first DVD set), plus the Games episodes (seasons 3-5), as well as all the Adult Party Cartoon episodes. The thing'll likely be around $100, but to me it'll be so worth it. The box art for both sets (works in progress) have been posted here, and they look ridiculously attractive. I'm so thrilled... Overwhelmed. (edited by Abnormal Freak on 07-25-05 10:35 AM) (edited by Abnormal Freak on 07-25-05 10:43 AM) |

| I so wanna see Man with the Screaming Brain. Gonna hafta wait for a DVD release... I hear the version they'll be showing on Sci-Fi is butchered, and I don't even have DIRECTV in the basement anyway. Anyway, it doesn't matter who the rest of you've met. Bruce Campbell is the coolest person--besides Jesus--anyone could meet. |

| Bubba Ho-tep jizzowns. ADIOS is KMFDM's last good album. Not the last great, since Symbols is, but good nonetheless. Bought these DVDs: American Beauty [The Awards Edition] The Princess Bride [Special Edition] Pulp Fiction [Collector's Edition] EDIT: More... Batman Beyond The Crow [Dimension Collector's Series] Monty Python and the Holy Grail [Special Edition] The Naked Gun 2 (edited by Abnormal Freak on 07-29-05 05:18 PM) (edited by Abnormal Freak on 08-01-05 03:04 AM) (edited by Abnormal Freak on 08-02-05 01:00 AM) (edited by Abnormal Freak on 08-02-05 01:00 AM) (edited by Abnormal Freak on 08-02-05 01:02 AM) (edited by Abnormal Freak on 08-02-05 01:11 AM) |

Top Secret! has its moments of total funniness. The hilarious parts seemed few and far between, however, so I wouldn't put it on the same level as The Naked Gun, Hot Shots!, and Airplane! (although I haven't seen Airplane! in sooooo many years, I can't really say where I'd rank it). I'll have to watch it again, though, to see if my opinion changes any. It's worth $5.50 for the funny sections--parts of the movie that stuck in my head after my first time seeing the movie, when I was in the 3rd grade or so. I saw those parts and thought, "No way! I've seen this!" Memorable moments. ![]() |

| The The is beyond excellent. There are 2 or 3 albums that I like more than Mind Bomb, but it's a good album nonetheless. "Armageddon Days (Are Here Again)" is such a stellar song, even though I'm not in the least bit thrilled by the lyrics. |
