I'd use it too. Best idea would be if it were combined with a folder system in favourites, so you can put threads you want to keep handy in one folder, and threads you want to be notified about in another.

Yeah, that's exactly what I did. Windoze really didn't like it.
I'll try that method, though... Hey, it kinda worked. Tried to copy it back from the CD, but I wasn't about to let that happen.

I don't mind them. On the minus side, they're usually hard, but on the plus side, they're only an hour and a half long (though you can stay as long as you need), then you get to go home, plus they always come before big holidays.

They use the same letter for L and R, but usually pronounce it as R. (Hence things like Engrish.)

...Is that you, dad? My dad is totally paranoid that the Japanese are planning to attack, and that video games have something to do with it. He hates fun and never forgives anyone for anything. World War 2 is the whole reason he even thinks this way. I mean jeez, it was like 60 years ago! Everyone involved in that is probably dead (or at least too old to start a war) by now.

They're called *gasp* TV Out cards. Some video cards can do it. If you live in the US (or have a friend who does, that you can get it sent to), NewEgg probably has one.

And no, anthromorphic/furries cats/catgirls would have their claws withdrawn most of the time. So they prolly wouldn't have that much problem with writing on a keyboard. And they could always cut their own claws if it get's a problem for them...

I suppose you could do that, but you'd still have rather stubby fingers...

Er, we're only at 1072 so far.

Maybe this code would be better, place it in the function that prints user IDs:
if($userid==1337)
{
echo("<font size=1337>1337 OMFG</font>")
}
else
{
echo($userid)
}

OMG cannibal layout. Hehe, the irony is just too delicious.

Anyway, I seem to have a small problem with this layout. See Shippo (the fox) over there? He's an EXP bar in a <div>. Seems, though, that the div stretches too far, and you can't select the left-most text. How do I fix that?

[edit] Whoops, had a line break in a URL.

Plain Mozilla, actually. How could you tell, the non-ugly table borders?

Speaking of which, someone get the thread out of this table already! Hell, I'll do it. I hope.

There, I R teh hero, I think. Now somebody post so we can actually see if it worked.

Posted on 10-17-04 10:52 AM, in I think I found a bug in Mozilla. Link
Look to your left, you should see a fox jumping toward a 1up. Click somewhere around him and drag your mouse across him. When I do it, it automatically scrolls to the bottom of the page. Kitten Yiffer's layout does this too. For a while it bugged the hell out of me, but I think I found what causes it: dragging over a <div> area. Try it out!

[edit] It seems to work well if I click near the end of the word '1up' up there (not the graphic, the text in the post) and drag down/left across him.

Posted on 10-17-04 10:58 AM, in Best NES emu while talking about mappers ? Link
Not every game uses a different one. A mapper is basically a memory bank controller, for accessing more memory than the NES can access directly. (IIRC, cartridge ROM is mapped somewhere at like 8000-FFFF, this only gives you 32K. A bigger ROM needs to use a memory bank contoller to swap in different parts of the data to those addresses. Say it's set to bank 3, that means when it tries to access $8123 it really gets $8123+($8000x3).) It also controls things like mirroring, saved games, etc. Many games use the same chips, in particular most of Nintendo's, but then there's a lot of third-party and even moreso pirate games that have come up with their own crazy concotions, each of which needs to be emulated a different way.

(Sorry if I'm wrong about any of this, I'm not really an NES expert. )

If you tried to help instead of spamming, you'd know that both I and d4s do, and OK Impala has one with battle courses edited. (I linked to the profiles since I dunno where you'd find them. Mine's on zophar.net and my currently dead site, tho. )
About each of them:
Mine is just re-done tracks. They're really long and hard.
d4s's is an awesome graphics hack. The tracks have been changed a bit, but kept the same shape.
OK Impala's just has cool new battle courses.

You too? I did this a while ago, but I didn't really want to post the results until I'd actually found something useful. (Nor release the program until the colours actually worked. ) May as well, though:

If you scan the game's RAM for 'MIO0' you'll notice that each level loads some compressed files, usually 2 but sometimes only one (such as the wing cap level). I found that levels 1 and 2 both load the same file, which indicates that level data is NOT compressed. Towards the end of the ROM is a FRICKIN HUGE data block, but when I corrupted a big chunk of it and played most levels, nothing seemed to change. I had the sound off, so it could be related to that, but it's a LOT of data. Must be like a meg or so.

You can do X/Y flips, but you'd have to do some TSA re-arrangement for it to look right. I dunno how he intends to do sideways, though. This'd be so cool... I'd do it if he wasn't.

Nothing went wrong? What, was it supposed to drop out of the sky and land in the middle of a city? I somehow doubt it.
