What kind of mice have you been using? If they're all PS/2, try USB, or vice-versa. The port could be dirty or messed up. Something else you could try is looking for a DOS program that uses the mouse, and running it outside of windoze (use a boot disk or something). If it still acts up, you'll know it's a hardware problem.

Most computers I've seen running WinXP, including mine, will access the floppy drive randomly. It usually happens during memory-heavy operations, so I suspect it's a bug that may be related to swap files.

Well maybe GW can convert WMAs, but I doubt it can convert everything. Winamp plugins for it always skip MIDIs for some reason.

(Really, why would you need more than one? More would just speed it up. And if there aren't any, how the hell did I even find the file?) |

Well your modem could support the option, but have it disabled, and a virus could enable it.

You don't have a floppy drive? If you have/can find an XP install CD, you could just run it and go to Recover (not Recovery Console). That basically just copies all the system files from the CD, similar to reinstalling but without removing your files. |

It's because the plants are actually clinging to the side of the pipe, waiting to bite your head off as you pop out. They can't tell if it's an enterable pipe (almost spelled that as 'poop' XD) or not. |

[Fixed it, trashing thread.] |
This computer's messing with my head, I swear. So a long time ago, I got rid of the modem in my computer, in favour of a network card to connect my cable modem. This worked good, but I later decided to put the dialup modem back in in order to use the computer as a phone. Well, I found that when both the modem and network card are installed, neither will work. Whatever, I took the modem out and went about my business. Tonight, however, I decided I should install a second hard drive I had kicking around. So I did, and after a lot of screwing around (I had it working, then the screw fell on the board and I had to rip everything apart to get it out ) I had it set up again. The new hard drive works, but now the network card doesn't anymore. What's really interesting is that somehow, the modem that I swear I removed, has been installed for God knows how long and the NIC still worked. It wasn't until I realized it was there that it started acting up again. (Right now I'm connected through USB which is very unstable.) I also noticed that when I rebooted the first time with the new HD and the cable connected, the light on the cable modem which is only supposed to come on when the computer is connected was on even before I turned the computer on. Now it just won't come on at all, nor will the light on the NIC. So what would cause this kind of thing to happen? They were both working (somehow) for a good while before this. I've verified that there isn't an IRQ conflict, disabled the modem, and disabled allowing the NIC to be turned off (and of course rebooted). I also tried clicking Repair, it says it failed to renew the IP address. How can I get both working together? I really don't want to have to open the thing up again (already did it twice tonight) to take the modem out. (edited by HyperHacker on 09-26-04 01:41 AM)
