Well, I imagine the SNES header has a byte that tells what sort of hardware is in it, which an emulator would use for that exact purpose, so just by changing it to the appropriate value for one of the chips, it should be enabled. The question is if the game will still function.

How are these stats initially calculated? Does each user have a randomly-generated base for each (IE: Pokemon), a class (Final Fantasy) or do you just stick some random numbers in?

Maybe your SNES is broken? Sounds about right to me. Play with the options a bit.

Ooh, nasty Nintendo. The name is padded with space (0x20) and the first byte after it is also 0x20, so I changed the wrong thing. I figured it out, but I think your list is wrong. I changed it to 05, and ZSnes says it's DSP-2. (The game runs fine, though. ) I'll compile my own list of what ZSnes reports it as being and what happens when I play it... 00 - Normal, runs (even the SRAM ) 01 - Normal, runs 02 - Normal, runs 03 - DSP-1, runs 04 - Normal, runs 05 - DSP-2, runs 06 - Normal, runs 07 - Normal, runs 08 - Normal, runs 09 - Normal, runs 0A - Normal, runs 0B - Normal, runs 0C - Normal, runs 0D - Normal, runs 0E - Normal, runs 0F - Normal, runs 10 - Normal, runs 11 - Normal, runs 12 - Normal, runs 13 - SuperFX, runs* 14 - SuperFX, runs 15 - SuperFX, runs (this is what Yoshi's Island uses) E3 (just out of curiosity) - SGB, runs *This I find especially odd. I tried a level from every world (went all the way through Chocolate Island 2) and a modified one, and everything worked perfectly. Working with Yoshi's Island, I found that it had a strange ROM map that was half LoROM and half HiROM, switching back and forth. The only reason I see for this would be the use of the SuperFX, if that's the case, shouldn't SMW have crashed? (YI has the same 'ROM Type' byte. The next byte is 0B compared to 0A in SMW, but changing it in SMW had no visible effect.) (edited by HyperHacker on 06-26-04 06:22 PM) |

I like them, the original music is boring. (The bonus level theme's nice though. )

Looks odd. The head, especially. And if that's a mouse, it's the fattest mouse I've ever seen. |

Post the weirdest thing you're willing to reveal about yourself (so long as it's not too disturbing.) I, for one, can't keep an erection in the shower. It's just fine anywhere else, can keep it going for hours on end, but when I'm showering it just kinda dies. Strange, but I don't use it there anyway. (Not too fond of the idea of water getting in one's body like that. My wang is designed for output only and I'd like to keep it that way. )

So I was logging into Gmail, and one of Proxomitron's filters that only works half the time killed it. So I told it not to apply that filter to Gmail, reloaded, still happened. I disabled it. Still happens. I told Mozilla to bypass it altogether for Gmail. Still freakin happened! The modified page is stored in cache and no matter how many times I mash Ctrl+F5, close and re-open the tab, try to load it while offline (which never finishes, not even a 404 ) and again while connected, it won't reload the damn page! It just keeps using the one in cache. The files in the cache folder all have random names that I'm not about to go sorting through to delete it. (Don't see why it can't just use the URL of the page, replacing slashes with something else, or even just letting the OS create folders as they would be. ) So... What now? (I'd like to avoid clearing my cache; my computer's slow enough already.)

The problem isn't so much that people are lazy and don't know how to use computers, rather than the average computer has hundreds of security holes. Spyware can literally install itself just by you visiting a web page, opening an email, even just connecting to the Internet, if you don't install the patches (and a lot of people don't), if there even ever is one. (Thanks M$! ) Someday I need to write a worm of my own. It'll work its way into a system by any means necessary, patch security holes, install an AV and anti-spyware systems, and DoS spyware companies. Now, who's got some security holes? |
