The main routine's 3072 bytes?

Any plans for a C/C++ version, or at least something we don't need Java for?

It is possible to edit SMW's music. Find and edit the instrument tables and music data, or replace them with ones from another game using the same music engine. But of course it's far from easy.

Chibi: It's possible to run Winmodems in Linux if you can find the right drivers. And just because M$ doesn't know of a bug doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Remember, large chunks of source code are out there, and M$ often doesn't fix things until they become well-known critical holes. As for the 45 minute thing, probably a filesystem bug, or maybe the 'IO Read Bytes" counter (you can see it in the task manager) overflowing.
Kitten Yiffer: I've seen one with physically bad clusters. The HD only measured half its capacity, and at 55% formatting, it made some very loud clunking sounds and stopped. Hehe.
Everyone: AVG is a fully-supported free antivirus with NO ads, crippleware, or other such catches. (The pro version just has more features, the way 'pro' software's supposed to. ) And it's never given me a problem, except that it likes to warn me about things that aren't really virii (but for some reason are in all the AV lists) laying dormant in my System Restore folder. But I guess that's it's job.

Haha, how long has this been open since you said that?
Anywho, I'm gonna add another useful Windoze app: The Proxomitron. A very powerful ad-blocker/web filter compatible with anything that can use a proxy. It's fully customizeable and can do anything from killing annoying popups and banners to adding things to every page you visit. And it's free.

Now why don't I close this? PM a HW/SW mod if you got something to add (like Yiffy Kitten said).

Posted on 03-20-04 05:24 AM, in Memory-related questions Link
I'm talking about in memory. In a horizontal level, the first byte is the top left corner, and it goes from there to the top right corner, then the next byte is one block down from the top left, and so on. I wanted to know if in a vertical level it still works this way, or if it's laid out top to bottom or some such craziness.
And I think you misunderstood #1. As you know the levels are 0x1F (or was it 0x20?) screens long (assuming layer 2 is a BG image). What I'm asking is if you only use up to say screen 4, does the Map16 data in RAM still contain the screens up to 0x1F or just up to 4?

I got bored of Legend Of Dragoon somewhere around the first save point. Other than that, none that I can think of. Space Station: Silicon Valley was one I didn't exactly abandon, but after killing 2 controllers, I just decided 'screw it' and cheated the rest of the way. (Ironically, it was only 2 levels that I really had problems with. That damned poo swamp, and the one before it. )

A Gameboy. Seriously, I never found anything hard to hook up. I guess the worst of what I have is the Sega Genesis, since you gotta twist the cable until you find the right alignment (or just look ).

BGs/Avatar: See custom title. I made the BGs random because I like to have a little variety (and because I don't recall seeing it done before), and it has the added bonus of not making me choose one. (Interesting side note, they use about 700MB of bandwidth a month here, hence why they're on Geocities now.

Never changed my name here, but I stole Kagome's layout once. Names I've used in the past (in order)... My real name (Hotmail), Yoshi_Freak (Hotmail), Pika98765 (a lot of things - hey, I was 11, stfu ), Mew2 (GSCCC, lasted maybe 2 weeks), this one (everything after that). I've also gone by the one-time aliases BoWzR, MrBucket, and AnusPower (got me autobooted a few times ) in various chat rooms. And every full moon I turn into a guy named Acmlm. I claim to be playing Gunbound the rest of the time so nobody catches on.

Damn, I know how that feels. All the various stuff I made when I was younger was in a shack at my grandpa's. Well I was there one day so we decided to go through it... All viciously torn apart by mice. I now hate mice with a passion.

Hmm, don't suppose you could just glue the bug back together?

Any decent AV does.

From AIM.com:

We have received reports that a number of AIM users have received Instant Messages from someone on their Buddy List asking them to check out the following links: http://www.wgutv.com/osama_capture.php?dII5 OR http:www.buddylinks.net OR http://www.gamesandquizzes.com/nightraptor/.

IF YOU RECEIVE THIS MESSAGE, DO NOT CLICK ON THE LINK, EVEN IF IT COMES FROM SOMEONE ON YOUR BUDDY LIST.

This link takes users to a web site that asks them to download a game. If the user agrees to download the game, the web site also installs a secret "adware" program on the user's machine that can deliver unwanted advertisments and promotions. The adware program will also send the same link out to every person on the user's Buddy List -- spamming their friends and associates with a link to the same adware.

HERE'S THE FIX:If you have already clicked on the link and downloaded that software, you can remove the adware program from your machine by clicking on Start --> Control Panels --> Add/Remove Programs and then removing the applications related to:

I always say if it turns you on, go for it. Not much difference really. With hentai you're looking at someone who doesn't exist. With porn you're looking at someone you're never gonna see IRL and may as well not exist anyway.

Personally though, I sometimes watch the stuff because it has this strange tendency to be funny as hell.
