| The RIAA and other such organizations HATE file sharing. I wouldn't be surprised if ZA does it on purpose. Or, maybe the program's just using too much bandwidth/CPU. WinMX jumped up to a steady 85% CPU out of nowhere the other day, I had to close it to do anything else. |

| A good idea is to disable loading (not displaying, actually loading - use Proxomitron to kill 'src='). Often they use them to verify an email (for example, < I once found one entitled "[about 50 random ASCII characters] - your asian language translation partner". I can see they do a great job.  (I have a pic somewhere at home.) |

| I've got some questions regarding DVD burning and PS2. 1) Will an unmodified PS2 even play a burned DVD? (This being a compilation of my own, so no copyright protection stuff would be at work.) Any specific format? 2) A lot of DVDs have options for things like subtitles, alternate soundtracks, etc. How would I make something like that? 3) Should I go with + or -? 4) What's a good cheap burner I can get? Something that won't die in a month but doesn't cost more than the average computer. 5) Is there a specific compression format that has to be used? How good is it? (For example, how much space would a 50MB AVI use up after being converted?) |

| Uhm... When I hit Ctrl+Shift+Alt+F1 my screen flashed. Further attempts brought up the Task Manager, toggled caps lock, and made a lot of beeping. No dialog as of yet. Fu, you are evil.  [edit] I wrote a VB program to do it. My keyboard lights go crazy, but nothing shows up.  [edit again] HOLY BLOODY HELL! PROMISE ME YOU'LL NEVER DO THAT AGAIN!  So I realized my joystick could emulate keypresses. Great, I thought, I'll assign them all to one button. Sure, the dialog appeared - but it never stopped holding them! Everything was locked up and when I finally managed to switch to another window, it was typing some random crap over and over. After yanking out the joystick and keyboard, the terror was half over. Any time I pressed certain keys, it would type an assload of garbage. I had to reboot to fix this. Windoze did not like that, it hates rebooting. The Task Manager inexplicably lost its settings. StyleXP refused to apply a theme and for some reason decided now would be a good time to open the online help file. My desktop needed to be refreshed 4 times before it'd draw right. Icons were randomized. And now for no apparent reason... MY TASKBAR ICONS ARE BIG AND UGLY! Fu, my computer hates you. Para: You need to release that patch. You could always hack it so the checksum dealie thing still works, just that it uses whatever the new checksum is. Alright, let me just clarify some stuff.... |
-My PS2 is completely unmodified, and I want to keep it that way. All I have is ATV Offroad Fury 2 and a Network Adaptor. -I'm not trying to copy a DVD, I'm trying to make one of my own. I want to throw together some various AVIs I have, and was wondering what sort of size I can expect after converting one of, say, 50MB. I also want it to have a menu like most commercial ones do in which I can toggle various things. -I'm not trying to play any actual PS2 games.

It's possible the game can't handle any higher speeds (FYI, the displayed speed is rarely the logical speed, in 3D games especially they use floating point, so 1 = 0x3F800000), but I figure the speed algorithm probably just hit the max speed it can get with the data it's given. Change the stats or algorithm and you might pick up some speed. |

Open the 16x16 editor and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+F1+N+O+Insert. Yes, all of those at once. You don't need to do it in order or all at the same time, but they need to all be down at once at some point. This will open the Import SNES Tile Map Screen to Current Map16 Page dialog (see this thread). Note: Many keyboards don't like this, and it's a real pain to do. I still think there's more. I browsed around in it myself... "Create Filter to Remap Colors in Tile" and "Change Max 6x6 Area (in hex)" are some very interesting-looking dialogs...
