can you honestly be this retarded? it's like very time you post I think, "wow, this is the dumbest thing I've ever read". And then you post again.

Maybe it would help if you actually tried to explain what your problem is with my post instead of just being an asshole about it. Why does nobody ever think of this?

Oh, and I wouldn't overestimate Deep Freeze's security. It's a proprietary program, and just like 99% of them, the developer won't tell you about bugs or exploits.

True, but what virus is capable of bypassing it and not being picked up by AVG or Norton? (Yes, the school computers run Norton and Deep Freeze. )

I don't know, unless you'd like to switch to an OS with that feature built-in and non-buggy

I would, but I also like having an OS where I can do simple things without typing a lot of obscurely-named commands that don't even ask before doing something dangerous.

NSNick, you probably can't patch an SMB1 hack onto an SMB1/Duck Hunt ROM. Depending how it's laid out, it might work, but I doubt it.

1: Blackness behind each letter looks bad. Is that a hamster at the top?
2: No BG, bad palettes, spelling and grammar problems, and how the hex do you get out of there? Unless it's the new game intro, which is still bad, because in the few seconds before the text appears, you could run off the block.
3: Absolutely nothing exciting here. Not even a background.

I'm guessing you used a custom palette or HDMA effect or some such thing in the level, and the OW doesn't restore its own state properly. Try placing the level's exit in a separate area with no ExGFX, custom palettes, animation, etc and see if it works then.

Yeah, I'll admit, I suck at search engines. I'll look and not find anything, and then someone else finds it. Drives me nuts.

I don't seem to recall that conversation. Nor any like it. This is the only time I can think of that I even mentioned Xk in a thread that wasn't related to him in some way.

Now, if you'll read the post again...

I know several people that think Bush is awesome and several that think there's no way he should even be allowed near the white house. Xk can be compared to this; some people think he would make a good admin, and some think he should be banned from the Internet entirely. Note that nowhere in this post do I state which side I belong to in either argument. And to look closer at this quote:

The difference being we know for sure that Xk (originally) got in illegally.

A simple joke regarding the fact that some people believe that Bush rigged the election (or someone else rigged it for him), IE, he got in illegally. Nobody except those who rigged it, if it even was rigged, knows for sure. I compare this to the fact that Xk's adminning was clearly illegal (in the "wasn't approved by staff" sense, not so much the "against the law" sense); he broke into the database and adminned himself.
See, you people keep misreading my jokes and totally not getting them.

Now if we can get back on topic... BMF reminds me of, well me. Makes a bunch of really cool hacks/programs but takes forever and then some to finish them. I don't even remember when I started one of the hacks I'm working on at the moment, but I believe at the time people were concerned that every computer in the world was going to blow up. (Hint: Pre-2000)

And Tamarin Calanis's name reminds me of Tamaran.

Firefox. Good: Extensions pwn. Bad: Buggy extensions don't pwn (and it's quite a pain to tell which is causing problems ).

That does sound interesting. Though the biggest problem with me switching to any free OS (save for maybe ReactOS, but it's not done yet) is that I write Win32 programs regularly, in C, using raw Win32 code, GDI, etc... stuff that, to my knowledge, isn't easy to port. Seeing how this represents at least half the time I spend on the computer, it's rather important. As far as the OS itself, basically I'm looking for Windows with much more power and far less bugs. I've tried Mandrake and Gentoo and neither really gave me that feel; Mandrake was buggy (probably my CPU, but yeah) and just felt... weird, and Gentoo is user-frendly the way chess is a sport.

Though right now I'm just wondering if anyone knows WTF is up with Firefox. This bug just keeps appearing and disappearing, never shown up before, and is very annoying.

BitTornado. It's small and efficient and does the job. I've considered others, but there's not really any need. (Unless they can avoid kicking me offline every so often, but I think that's a modem issue. )
