| 128MB Chaintech Volari V3 XGI. Though upon further inspection, there doesn't seem to be any actual process running unless I open it, just a menu item. I think it might be related to the monitor shut-off timer (shuts off after an hour) or screen saver. Every morning it's gone when it was there the night before. (I rarely shut down, since during the day I occasionally need to access it from school through VNC, and at night it plays music and acts as an alarm clock.) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Didn't someone try this a long time ago, to try to end a depression or some such thing, and it backfired horribly? Why not just give it to the other provinces or something? Spend it on whatever needs spending.

Holy crap, that's perfect! Not only does it draw the desktop background, but it automatically accommodates for tiling/stretching and the window's position. |
 This is exactly what I wanted to do (sans border, but that's easy to do; I added it to show the window dimensions). Thanks man! Interesting though, it fails if the window uses translucency... shouldn't be a problem, since I don't use it anyway, but it's kinda odd.

Actually, bumping can be 2 things. |
1) Posting in a way old thread. 2) Posting something useless (eg "bump") to bring the topic back up to the top. Some forums allow this, but most don't. This one doesn't.

It's easy to make a custom block that acts as a door/pipe/whatever only if you've beaten x amount of levels. Regarding the 'replace overworld with level' idea... I'd love to see that, but it's proving very difficult. (I bet it could be done with just a few RAM writes and function calls, but we need to figure out how exactly. |

It's always worked for me. You have to copy from a level that uses the same graphics though. |

I'm planning to do something like this. That one was done with Active Desktop, using HTML, but it took up a lot of resources and wasn't very flexible, so I want to do the same using windows and a standard desktop. Obviously, it'd look pretty crappy if the images like the one in the bottom right had a solid background colour. |

Actually, Windows XP is pretty stable so long as you don't hack it or use IE. But of course, it's no fun if you don't hack it. |
But you still do need to reboot every now and then to install updates, lest you get nailed with a lot of viruses.And I don't think this thread needs any more Mac-bashing. Macs are good for some tasks, PCs for others.

  As you can see, this is an ordinary, working Pentium 233 CPU with some weird thing stuck on the top. I dunno what it is, but it prevents me from installing a fan, which means it overheats pretty quick. It doesn't seem to be glued on; if it is, it's damn strong glue. I think I could just pry it off, but I don't want to wreck the chip. (It almost seems like it's part of it.  ) Does anyone know what this is and how to remove it?
