| Or you could get one of those multi-desktop systems (Microsoft has one) and spread your windows across different desktops. They won't show up on the taskbar when you're on a different desktop. | ||||||||||||||||

| You can use memtest86 to check it out for sure. If things are getting garbled on the screen, it's probably RAM failing, though RAM can fail because of a bad power supply too and not actually be damaged. And are you sure you know how to install it? Laptops can be pretty difficult to upgrade. |

So basic blocks and 'step' blocks. It could mean like a step up from basic or something. If anyone can get the program to show Japanese, I might be able to at least tell you what some of it says, if not what it means.  Also instead of things like File (F), just do &File. That will underline the F and make it the shortcut key. The Japanese version used the letters-in-brackets method because the words didn't actually contain those letters, but in the translation they should, so it's not necessary. | Absolutely. Fix the bugs and make a LOT less Koopa chains, and it'll be a hell of a hack. ...Consider adding some feathers too. Maybe even some not-too-hard-to-get 1ups early on, like the original. But near the end of the level so you can't go back and re-stock on them. |

A while ago I tried to install Gentoo and didn't have much luck. I didn't manage to get it running, and corrupted my HD in the process, destroying many files. |
(You would think a program that basically formats a partition would warn you if another partition exists on it, in case you mis-typed, but noooooo. ) So tonight I'm going to back up all my files to a second HD, physically disconnect it so as to prevent any damage to the files, and try installing again. Anyone have any pointers, advice, free money, etc?

Awesome. I wonder if that means we could compress things that aren't normally compressed if we run low on ROM space? (Though that would mean adding 24MB of content. |
 )If bank 7 is always used to hold the current level's layout, and the banks vary in size, then they're probably just various chunks of memory reserved for stuff. I imagine there's a master pointer table somewhere that would tell you the location of each 'bank'.

Your paths are too long. Try shortening them or adding levels. It won't fix the event issue but it'd look better. |
