I bet you're all pretty sick of this image. And it probably annoys you even more that you can't adblock them. Well, this Firefox extension can finally get rid of anti-hotlink scripts once and for all! Whenever you see one, copy its URL, and add an entry for the entire site (eg: http://www.tripod.com/blah/foo/bar/someimage.jpg becomes http://www.tripod.com) and set the referrer to Forge. You can then view hotlinked images or even links directly to files on that site. As long as I'm posting about Firefox extensions, here's some more nice ones: Chipmark: Online bookmarks. Really cool but I can't seem to get it to log in. InFormEnter: Fill out forms with 2 clicks. FireSomething: Rename Firefox with random funny names. I'm posting this from Moe Zilla Powereagle right now! Leet Key: 7r4n5|4735 73x7 1n70 1337, R()7-13, |)v0r4k 4nd |075 0f 07h3r u53fu| 4nd/0r fun (0nv3r510n5. (In English: Translates text into 1337, ROT-13, Dvorak and lots of other useful and/or fun conversions.) Menu Editor: Does what it says. Customize the menus. WellRounded: Round off the various text boxes in the interface. CustomizeGoogle: Useful Google options including making image links point directly to the image, and removing unwanted sites from search results. Highly recommended! Any other cool extensions anyone wants to share?

Yeah, looks like it takes priority over everything. I even tried changing PATHEXT so .bat files are executed before .exe, and putting a cmd.bat in \windows, but it didn't work. |
Hm... I'm getting some major graphics corruption all of a sudden. Also, my system occasionally pauses for a second, then a line flickers on the screen... The same happened when I tried to overclock to 2ghz (which I promptly undid ). Could this indicate an overheated video card? (Case temp 40°C, CPU 45°C, but those have been steady pretty much since I put it together; the old computer read about the same.) Many pixels, particularly title bars, just plain won't redraw. Here's a screenshot, but I dunno if the problem will show up in it. *reboots* [edit] Rebooting (and enabling AGP Fast Write; dunno why it would have been off) seems to have fixed it for now, but that was only about 1 minute ago. Temperatures are still the same. AGP voltage is apparently 1.55V, which I can adjust if necessary. [edit again] Bah, can't get standby mode to work either, it just starts up again. I had the same problem before, and fixed it by not allowing any devices to wake it up (the power button would do that job nicely), but of course in SP2, I can't disable that for anything except LAN cards which don't have it enabled. [more editing] Turns out the graphic corruption is a known driver problem. I updated it so that supposedly shouldn't happen. It didn't fix dual-monitor mode, though (xgiv3.dll crashes), we'll see what their tech support has to say about that one. ...OK, this is annoying. No floppy drives will work anymore. I tried 2 drives, 2 cables and every possible connection, but either the drive won't even spin up or it just says there's no disk inserted. Even the BIOS acts as if there's no disk when trying to boot off it. Depending on my settings I can get it to say 'FDC FKitten Yiffer' at startup and not let me try to boot from disks but that's about it. Windows, of course, doesn't report any problems.

Sounds like it, but it better not. I think the BIOS is just crappy. Certain settings make everything run incredibly slow, and the only way to fix it is to load the default settings. (There's probably an update, but I'm not too keen on the idea of flashing a BIOS when the power could go out at any given moment...) |
I tried 2 different floppy drives, so I don't think there's a problem with them. The settings are right, and that's exactly what happens; Windows just says there's no disk. (I tried b: too, it doesn't exist.)

Yeah, but this does it without the ads. And not sending any referrer might still trip some scripts, whereas sending a fake won't. Otherwise I would just disable it in Proxomitron. |

Zophar has popups? Seriously, just get Firefox, Opera, or Proxomitron. (Proxomitron will even work with IE if you absolutely must use it.) |

But if you've designed the game well, 8-1 will still be pretty hard. And I suppose you could force the player to go through an entire world without saving, but really, I hate that. You should be able to save whenever you want. It's WAY annoying when you have to keep progressing through the game to find a save point, especially when you're in a hurry. |

That reminds me... I always wondered, will a Max Mushroom fully recover you if you have >255 HP? |

I keep seeing more of those things here. It's annoying, but I enjoy laughing at them at the gas stations. |

That's normal. It's because the table at the left is big with all the post counts and whatnot. |

I see the image alright. A lot of extensions don't work properly with Deer Park yet. |

Forget it. I've been saying this for years. Some people are just too greedy and/or stuck up. |

All quite awesome, especially the title background. (Though I would have expected a title screen that's at least a little bit different than the original. ) Are you going to fix that piranha plant priority bug shown in the second-last image? |

That could work, if you could figure out a way to do it. Allow normal saves between worlds, and temporary ones between levels. I think Final Fantasy Tactics Advance uses something like that for saving in battles. Though if you did that, you'd probably want to only have one (or possibly 2 if there's room) save file, and use one slot for temporary and one for permenant saves. That way if you load a temporary save and the power goes out, you don't lose everything, just the current world. |

Does anyone use this? Is it good? I'm considering switching to it, because bandwidth limits suck. |

I bet it wouldn't be especially difficult to have a link that changes your password and emails it to you, like other boards have. |

I've accumulated a total of 1,207,005 gold coins, and I'd like to redeem them. Just have them transferred into my bank account. Thanks. |
