What, you mean that glitch there is supposed to be like the fire or something? Guess that makes sense...

Speaking of LM bugs, though:

Interesting memory usage and page fault count. (Yes I had 2 open, yes I edited other programs out of the image. ) Windows told me it was running out of virtual memory while I was working in MSPaint, but Mozilla's usage was still what it always is, and LM was the second-highest for some reason. Usually that only happens if I'm running Photoshop and Mozilla at the same time and switch between the two.

...Doh. Should have made the VM Size column bigger.

Hm, that could be a bit heavy if you want to carry it around a lot. (For comparison, an Xbox is 9 pounds.) 7.7 may not seem like much but you might start to notice it if you're hauling it around in your arms all day.

...Of course that's nothing if you wear a backpack. You'd be amazed how much easier it is to carry things that way. My textbooks last year were 25 pounds, enough to make them akward to carry with my arms (yeah, I'm skinny ) but I barely even noticed having them in my backpack. Often brought them home by accident. (Though if you go with that idea, make sure it's closed and put the small stuff away from the zippers. Keeps it from falling out or getting snatched.)

That's just empty space. The ROM needs to be a certain size for the chip, so they stuck some FFs at the end.

Well that I doubt... the clock is supposed to be controlled by hardware (or if you use XP, synchronized online). Software shouldn't be able to affect it. Though if LM is using this much memory, it's probably using a lot of CPU power at times too, which could cause problems like that on an old computer.

Yeah, I have those. I just noticed that LM appeared to be displaying glitched tiles. (There's another further down.)

I've noticed that certain sprites, such as flowers, don't show up in translucent levels. Is there a way to prevent this?

No, no point having them on unless I'm editing them. Normally it barely uses any CPU power but it seemed to just allocate a bunch of memory and free it again for no reason.

If it's too small, just open it in your favourite hex editor and pad it to address 0x1000.

There is no tile there, though. It's just layer 1, a background, and a flower sitting on the ground. Ones that come out of ? blocks do become visible after they've come completely out, but ones sitting there don't.

A bit? I'm on 1280x1024 and it's HUGE! If you must use that image, I would suggest you darken it significantly and use CSS to make it a non-repeating background, with a very small repeating pattern to fill up space. Like this:

Put some text here. Watch it stretch! Cheese toast is great! Let's see how the text looks against the various elements of the background.

Of course, you'd need a better background image for this area, and should darken the catgirl image (at least the actual character, given that she's wearing bright white) so the text is readable. (Also notice how the repeating image forms a border at the top/left/bottom. )

I was about to ask this. No matter what tide level I choose, the water follows Mario when the screen scrolls up. I guess it's because layer 3 does. You'd need some kind of hack to subtract from the water's position to balance it out, and then probably the collision data too.
