At a frat party, my friend Josh noticed some fuckstain putting roofies in a girl's drink. He and some other people confronted fuckstain. Fuckstain denied it. Josh made him consume the drink. Fuckstain passed out and Josh and some of his brothers chucked him out the (first floor) window onto the lawn. They removed his pants and shoes and threw them over the telephone wires, wrote RAPIST on him in Magic Marker, and left him there. I have no idea whether or not the fuckstain ever got into legal trouble, but somehow I doubt he ever tried that again.

• Text in header, unless separated from post, written in different colour or made small. (WHAT makes people think that "I'm a level 102

• Crappy background, or BG that makes it unreadable.
  
• Bad text colour.
  
• Takes forever to load, or doesn't load at all.
  
• Poorly-coded causing rendering problems, or glitches up for some unexplained reason. (I think it was Kasumi-Astra's which looks good, but for some reason has its text colour changed when I use Proxomitron, though I can't find what exactly causes it, and it becomes unreadable. Also Kitten Yiffer's uses divs in a odd way that triggers a bug in Firefox making it scroll to the bottom of the page when I click it. )
  
• Has a scrollbar. Scrolling layouts SUCK!
  
• Huge images where there shouldn't be.
  
• Bad use of tables (eg crowded post area, too much empty space, text area too small).
  
• Crappy animated GIFs.
  
• Contains Flash. (||bass's is soooo close to this, but the rest of it is cool so I don't mind. Imoto's also escapes because it's just a small unobtrusive clock. )
  
• Text too big, too small, or bad font (especially Terminal which only shows up as blotches for me).
  
• Just plain sucks.

• Simple - not a whole lot of images or text everywhere.
  
• Good colours that don't clash.
  
• Uses up the entire post area. It really sucks when the post area is 900 pixels wide but there's only 3 words on a line.
  
• Small filesize, ~50K or less. (I know, I violated that a few times... This one's only like 20K though.)
  
• Stable; server doesn't crash every 8 minutes.
  
• Does not contain stupid Tripod images and other such nonsense. (Test, people!)
  
• Stretches well. The worst type of layout is that which is based entirely around one image. Scrolling layouts suck hard. (With clever use of tables it's really not hard to make a stretchable layout that looks like one big image, depending on the image. If not, use a different image.)
  
• Doesn't waste a lot of space. No 800x600 images in headers, please (and yes, I've seen this done ). Images are alright if not too big; the text area should be at least 75% of the height and width of the entire layout.
  
• Doesn't contain disturbing, gross, or just plain stupid content.
  
• Is adaptable. A good layout will look good on any board theme, in any browser, at any resolution from 800x600 and up. (640x480 is not a resolution you should be surfing with. Nor anything below 1024x768, really.)
  
• NO GIANT WEBSITE BANNERS! A small text link or maybe a non-animated (or simply-animated, like a moving dot or something) banner similar in size to your average ad banner is fine. A banner that takes up 1/4 of the screen is NOT!
