If you want to be technical, 3D games use sprites for 2D images. Mario, however, is a 3D model (except in all Mario Kart games before Double Dash).

Also, Super Mario Advance 4 has the best Mario sprite.

Wait wait wait...

They need to remake all the old Mario games in 3D for Gamecube, and call THAT All-Stars.

Not to mention loud music. Don't just throw on whatever kind of music you like, either; look for something everyone will enjoy. I found out the hard way that just because you like it doesn't mean anyone else in a 100-mile radius does.

If you use your turn signal every time you turn, even when nobody's around, you'll get in the habit of using it pretty quickly.
Also, don't forget to check your mirrors, and try to drive right at the speed limit; not too slow and certainly not too fast.

Sounds like the driver/card crashed. Temperature would be good to check out, otherwise it could be a defective driver or card.

Yes, Linux's customizable keys are nice. I've never heard of keyboards with penguin buttons though, aside from modded ones.

Most of these GS codes are on gscentral.com. Also the level list is exactly as seen with the level select code, but it's a 16-bit signed value; -1, -2 and -3 do something as well.

Regarding some objects being inside the file, it could be for compression or speed reasons, or maybe they just changed the code around a lot. It's quite sloppy code.

Javascript is, as its name implies, a sort of 'Java Lite'. It does make a decent starting language, since it's simple but similar to C. Here's some sample code to get you started:

<script language="javascript">
function ShowAMessageBox(text)
{
alert(text.toUpper());
}
</script>

<button onclick="ShowAMessageBox('Greetings planet!')">Click Me</button>

When you click the button, the message "GREETINGS PLANET!" will appear. (I'd show you, but it's kind of impossible here. ) Some key points to notice here:
  • You can just use <script>, but proper HTML specifies the language as well. (Makes it easier to read, too.) It's a good habit to get into, lest your code look like the board's.
  • Unlike in C, you don't use types. All functions are 'function' and all variables are 'var'. Strings work a bit different, though. IIRC you do something like var x = new String();.
  • The onclick statement, as you might expect, executes code when something gets clicked. Note the 2 different types of quotes. If you tried to use " inside the statement, you would close the quote, so you need to use ' instead. If you need to put quotes in a string, you can use \", \' or in some cases &quot;.
  • If you don't want all caps, just do alert(text);, you don't need to have a .whatever() at the end.
  • You must have a semicolon at the end of a statement, and everything is case-sensitive. A pain, but you'll get used to it. Note that for, while, if and else statements don't have a semicolon before their contents, as it's considered all one statement (eg: if(something) doThis(); else doThat(); ).

Posted on 07-27-05 06:19 AM, in Using 2 P2P apps for the same file Link
Most P2P programs use completely different protocols and file specs. You might get lucky and find that both use a hash method that checks what parts of the file are there and what aren't (BitTorrent does), but chances are the two programs would use different algorithms, chunk sizes and hash storage methods, which would make them incompatible.

I had that some weeks ago. It was a torrent file, Fifteen seeds, in the beginning three, then two and finally only one seeder was sharing the torrent. Nearly everyone was stuck at 99,5 %, and obiviously - since it was a RAR archive, the contents inside were are corrupt because it was unfinished, 1.2 MB were missing

About three days I was online, tried it with BitTornado and Shareaza - hell, even downloaded the same thing with Shareaza again because I saw more sources - but it stopped at 99,5 % again; no seed.

Another day later the seed went on
I wanted to seed the file as long as possible and did it longer, but there were only other ... seeds - we got all done and no peer remained

Well keep seeding anyway, for when someone does try to download it.
