All sorts of hacks have ripped GFX. Nintendo obviously doesn't care, or they'd have cracked down already. We don't sell them, we give credit, and they're outdated anyway, so who gives a damn?

Another idea I was contemplating, but don't think I'll use (doesn't fit my hack's theme at all, maybe in a later one) was to remove the L/R scrolling, remap item drop to one of the L/R buttons (leaving the other one free to use), and have the select button switch characters (I was thinking between Inuyasha and Kagome but given that my hack's based in a modern to futuristic time, that wouldn't work (expect a cameo tho)). With some simple ASM hacking each character could have separate graphics, abilities, physics (one jumps faster, the other runs higher, or some such thing) etc. In 2-player mode, the second character'd be controlled by player 2, and in one-player, you'd control both (not a problem, the game's already programmed this way and will do it even if you switch characters mid-game). Maybe even do it DKC style (when one dies you take over the other one, and can find the other again later, and when both die, you lose).

[edit] The diagram in my other post works now. How weird.

Well I wanted it to fill the whole thing.
You might be right about the stretching thing though. (But really, 800x600? WTF?) I suppose I'll remove them status image thingies.

[edit] OK, it took a lot of Javascript, image cropping, resolution changing, and growling in anger, but I got the titlebar to actually switch images depending what resolution you're on. I also removed the status pics at the side. Now there's one last problem. I set the tables to be 800 pixels, but that's still gonna stretch on crappy small resolutions. So I set it to 100%, that works, but it's way to big on big resolutions like mine and looks ugly. Is there some way to tell it to be 100% width up to 800 pixels (if the table it's in, which is the post table, is >800 wide, just stop there) or do I need to do a bunch more JS?

[edit again] Dangit, if you're gonna kill script tags in the posts, you could at least kill them in the profile too.
...And in the location field. Some of us are trying to use legit scripts ya know.

They both seem like the same thing to me. Course school practically never gets cancelled/delayed around here. 28 below out, the roads completely coated in ice, blinding snow blowing in your face, and you still damn well better be on time. About the only time they'll do anything is if the power goes out (or if it's snowing something like I described all day long, sometimes they send people who live way far away home an hour early).

My mom's got a cold again, so of course I will soon. The obligatory tri-weekly cold. I swear, there's something weird about this place. I used to get sick like every 8 months at least, but since I moved here, I'm lucky to be good for a week. Heck, I have an eye infection right now, and it includes lots of fun hacking up goo.

At one point in Pokemon Red, I seem to recall being able to look at a SNES, and it said "It's a game with Mario wearing a bucket on his head" or some such thing. Banjo-Kazooie (well, ALL Rare games) also have a lot of such things.
Call me a nerd if you will, but probably my favourite was "R4300" printed on some walls in the space levels in Diddy Kong Racing. N64 hackers will know what that's about...
Spoiler:
R4300 is the 'name' of the N64's CPU.
I wonder if the 337 means anything?

Humans come from nature, so whatever we do is a natural cause.
And if this has happened 5 times before already and we weren't involved, who's to say it's our fault this time? Sounds to me like a natural cycle.

...You having problems with Kitten Yiffer's layout too? In Mozilla, if I right-click, move the mouse, and right-click again, anywhere in the post field of his layout, it scrolls to the bottom of the page. That's the only place I've ever seen it do it, and I've looked at the source code and see absolutely no reason whatsoever for it. Very strange.

Indeed, it does look a bit odd having a 3-pixel graph, especially in a layout like mine. (You may notice the width=the # of days you've been registered, so I made it a non-repeating BG in a table cell with width=days regged. The text stretches it tho. )

SoundEdit Pro works nice for pretty much everything except MIDIs. But heck, I think even Sound Recorder (included with Windoze) can do that.

There hasn't been any known successes burning a GC game (seeing how they contain a veeeery tiny barcode that's actually comprised of physical 'pits' in the disc which is suspected to contain an encryption key for the raw disc image, and to recreate it would require very expensive proprietary equipment) but people have managed to exploit a bug in PSO and run games by streaming them off the PC. Rather crappy tho.

Well I couldn't help noticing an IDE port stuck on to my PS2's network adaptor, so I did the natural thing and crammed a hard drive onto it to see if it could substitute as a memory card. Well it doesn't appear to do much of anything, but the little LED stuck on the HD itself (which when in a computer basically does the same as the HD LED on the motherboard) just keeps blinking. Normally it only does this when the cable's connected backward but of course this is impossible given the layout of the connectors. Any ideas why it's doing this? Dead hard disk, or the PS2 just doesn't like it? And does sticking a 2GB hard disk into a PS2 actually do anything useful?
