| The first is probably it; the game would just load a different font when you don't have the book (assuming you're going by the level 2 entrance in LTTP). There could be different versions, though. Also, DD, nice OW but the levels are too far apart. |

I guess the freeze in the courtyard is because you didn't get a star.  Perhaps these levels contain multiple starting points, with different behaviours or scripts, and the game chooses one depending what exit you used.Also, I think I recall you saying the penguin slide is in the same file as level 4. I don't see the mountain slide, either. |

| What's with that level? It has like 15 screens of nothing between the two halves. I hope you don't intend for the players to actually swim all that way. And if you didn't, you should put some kind of barrier there (or just make it two levels) so they can't (don't just remove the water; remember the cape). That is unless it's supposed to be a secret. |

Cool. I notice the tables only use 4 of 256 possible values, though. I suppose hacking it to be more efficient is out of the question if you want it to show up right in LM, but any idea how we might go about expanding the table and/or using the rest of the entries? That's 12 bits of per-level settings that aren't used with 252 unused entries.  |

| I certainly hope it doesn't mean less cool hidden goodies. How long is the code, anyway? It'd have to be like tens, if not hundreds of thousands of lines to actually add this into the game, but only a few to unlock pre-existing code. I agree with Emptyeye, though. This is Rockstar's kick in the face, which they have needed for SO long, for not testing their games.  So if they're going to re-rate it AO, and release a lighter-rated version without it, why don't they just re-release the current version with it already enabled? People are going to be confused if one is rated AO and one is M, but they're exactly the same without hacks. |

You should learn ASM, it's a big help when you want to do things you can't normally do to a game.Of course, if the compression format is really obvious or is used in a different game, sometimes you can get away with not having to reverse-engineer it.
