For that price you can get a debugger that's actually a modified GBA, to which you dump the ROM and run it. Plus it doesn't have stupid limitations. I believe there are warez versions available, but they take up a lot of RAM due to the hacky workaround for the filesize limit. [edit] Hey, anyone have this guy's email? I'd like to know exactly how many copies he's managed to sell. (edited by HyperHacker on 05-09-04 05:21 PM) |

It's nice to see you using mostly SMW graphics, and if not, ripped graphics from other Mario games. I do use some ExGFX, but mostly the original stuff (mainly because I suck at drawing).

Sure, one could make programs that run separate from LM, but it's a lot more convenient to integrate them. I already made a working prototype that uses the API to find LM windows, then grabs the level # out of memory and puts it in the titlebar (so you see "Lunar Magic - Level 105", for example). I haven't released it yet because that's all it does, and I need to cut down on CPU usage. It'd certainly be a lot easier if I didn't have to find LM, determine the memory location, dump the memory, and search it all for variables. (Especially since I can't get the whole dump thing to work. )

Generally you don't run a computer off a UPS (battery backup). The idea is that the battery gives you enough time to save and shut down. And Kwan, what the FLUCK? |

It is somewhat good when a relatively harmless virus gets in these holes. Better they find it that way and fix it before a more malicious one wipes the system or allows some sort of remote control. (This stuff gets pretty deep into government systems even. ) Have they actually stopped the virus, or is it still going? |

My ISP is most certainly NOT AOL. But AIM uses their server. Erk: Same problem here. V1.x sucks (and yes, I often have a problem connecting to people, I usually have to start it from my end) but 2.0 was just horrible, I got rid of it in about 15 minutes. |

It's not working in Mozilla either. I think I had trouble with Tripod too, sometimes I have to add random numbers at the end. Or, maybe it's cache-related. Testing... It's not doing it anymore. I suppose it does have to do with the cache then, but when it does it with hits from Google and I stick it in the URL, it works every time. Weird... Maybe if I had a server to host it on, I could make a script for that. You give it the URL and the referrer to send, and it bypasses it. (Ex: < And I'm ahead of Acmlm, w00t. At the risk of sounding like a n00b, might anyone have a dumbed-down, step-by-step tutorial on creating a window in C? I know how to do the basic stuff and call the functions, but I can't figure out what to call when. I found one tutorial and couldn't understand a bit of it, I found myself trying to define one thing so I could define another to define the first one.

If you don't like the Windoze interface, you can swap it. That's not the reason to use Linux. The reason is security. Reliability. Knowing you're not being spied on. More GUI-based stuff couldn't hurt, in fact making Linux easy to use is just what M$ needs to take a serious plunge.

If you can't convert, backing up and formatting is a good option (well, really the only option). Get some cheap (but reliable) CD writer, you can return it when you're done if need be. Buy some CDRWs. Get WinRAR (trial version's fine, though I suggest you get the full version, it's nice), compress everything to RAR with best compression split to 700MB, and copy it to CDRW. (Don't use CDR, it's a waste.)

Sonic and Mario graphics don't really fit together. I was originally thinking of putting Tails in place of Mario (got some rings and giant emeralds if you want 'em I'm still using the emeralds tho), but he's just too big. If you can get it to work, I can see it being quite nice, but Mario might clash with some of the level styles, not to mention SMW's physics are totally different (which sucks because Sonic's physics are teh w00t).

I'm wondering if anyone has any info related to the ASM for loading levels and the overworld. At some point I'm going to need to know how to load a level at will and where the game goes to load the OW, but I can do some tracing if you don't have the exact spots. It'd also help to have locations of code related to anything that involves ending a level (death, goal points, etc). BMF, Kenny, I know you're out there.

Eh, Dev-C++ (though I'm using C). I was able to create a window, but the code was all copy and paste; I didn't understand a bit of it.

You can buy a GB emulator from them. It just costs $4000 and you need to be a licensed Nintendo software developer.
