I'm surprised Nintendo didn't recall PSO 1/2, given the huge exploit. Though it probably explains their rarity.

Well it's not exactly computer related, but I dropped my DS yesterday and it froze. No apparent damage, though, but I never quite understood why a sudden impact like that can screw up electronics with no moving parts.

Check this out. Find an old crappy TV (best with an antenna), put it on channel 3, turn your DS on, hold it to the antenna and tune around a bit (you need a fine-tuning control of some sort). With a bit of work you can see the DS's image on the TV! It's not like a high-quality image you could actually play with or anything (it usually jumps and moves around) but it's there. (Colour, I'm not too sure of, because I used a black and white TV. ) It works best with GBA games, because otherwise you get both images mashed together. It's neat, but I wonder why it happens? GBAs don't do this...

Yeah, that's what I said (put a switch where Mario starts), but a Gameshark code would be easier to use. Some switches have to be pounded, and they expire.

So yeah, just look for codes that make the various switches always on.

Yes, the status bar palette keeps changing and the numbers don't look too great. (Maybe if there's another version of LM, it should make it impossible to edit the status bar colours. )

Yeah, I know it's old but I haven't seen it posted here. It's certainly interesting. If the DS does have some unused TV Out pin, I wonder if it could be of any use? Maybe something could attatch to it and provide a proper sync signal so we can actually get a usable picture; would be nice for GBA games and DS games that mostly only use the top screen. (Or if nothing else, I wonder if software can force the DS screens to update at a different refresh rate? Tweaking that a bit might get an image that a TV can pick up properly.)

Anyone tried it with a colour TV?

Well if you want to believe creationism and that we were created by God, then the universe could very well just be an endless void full of lifeless rocks. Almost like a test, to see if we would explore it and how far we could get. Or maybe there's something out there, not necessarily life; think Space Oddesy 2001, or like an energy source or something. Lots of possibilities there, but I'm more a believer of science than religion.

Also I do get a lot of deja vu. I'll be watching a TV show and see a scene, and realize I was thinking about it yesterday or earlier that day. It's very common. There are also certain situations IRL that I feel so strongly I've experienced before when I haven't. In some cases something would happen, and I'll remember a time before when I was in the same situation, feeling as if it'd happened before that, when I know it never really happened at all. A few times this has been so intense that I wasn't convinced it was really happening when it actually was. Or sometimes I'll have memories of things that are impossible (most of the time, I'll remember an image of myself in the 3rd person) or things that not only never happened but could never happen. (One such time being when the school bus didn't stop at my house... This never did happen and I don't even live there anymore, it was a long time ago, but I still remember it clearly.)

My dreams are weird too. They tend to make no sense at all, and often elements of one dream will appear in others (most commonly, part of one dream will take place in a place that was in another dream, though said place doesn't really exist) even when I haven't thought about them in a long time. There was one instance I can recall where I even dreamed about a real place that I'd never been to, only to visit it a few months later.

The thing that bugs me most, though, is that they never seem to mean anything. Nothing special ever happens during these situations that I feel I've seen before. Even the place I saw in a dream before visiting it for real didn't seem to have any unusual properties. There are also memories that just won't go away. I remember them in very good detail - some are even from when I was very young, at an age where I shouldn't be able to remember anything from by now - but there's no signifigance to them... In fact, a while ago I had an incredibly bad dream; I actually killed myself in this dream (tried, anyway, but somehow I continued right on living with a knife in my head). I thought for sure this was a very bad omen, but... nothing happened.

Just wanting to see if anyone's test was as stupid as mine.

Congratulations.

Mine wasn't, but someone keeps changing all those signs to reflect that. They draw an arm sticking out of the window, throwing a bottle. Pretty funny really.

What warning? If it's just something like temperature you can probably ignore it. I would think if there were a real problem, it would say that every time you start up.

Making backups often is never a bad idea, though.

Wise guy.

I don't see why it would be such a huge problem to have Mario fall on it. If it is, you can wait for it to expire or maybe just move it ahead a little.

Like he wouldn't have figured that out when he started. The real trouble is getting used to doing such precision work with your foot. They can be very sensitive. Or they can be like my dad's truck where you practically need to stand on the pedal just to get above 20km/h.

No, I mean the one where you can upload your own code and run pirated games. (Or legal homebrew stuff, but Nintendo doesn't care so much about that.)

Yay! But next time take the person out of the cake before you smash it into the wall. Yech.

This marks the most money I've ever got on a birthday, $320 in total. Which I already blew on computer upgrades and repairs.
