Whenever possible I base eating and sleeping around my own internal clock, which does not run on a 24-hour cycle. As a result I tend to be awake all night and asleep all day.  |

| Not only that, but why doesn't it tell you specifically what's wrong when you use the wrong name or password? I remember the first time I joined the board, it went down for quite a while, then I came back and tried to log in, but it kept saying "Invalid name or password" so I ended up having to re-register, not knowing the accounts had all been deleted during the downtime. |

Yeah, I leave and go read a book or something when I'm doing intensive stuff like defragging or burning CDs, mainly because they slow everything way down.  Any hard drive that clicks, though, is backed up and thrown in the junk pile. A clicking hard drive is a nearly dead hard drive.BTW, I heard of (and tested) an interesting trick regarding failing hard drives. Put them in the freezer (in a zip-loc or something so they don't get wet). Once they're nice and cold they often work again long enough to back them up. You might want to look at a new power supply. If it won't turn on again right away, it's usually that. |

| Getting exact sound rips from games is pretty easy if you have the right equipment. NES, SNES, N64 and Game Boy/GBA, you get the sound rips (NSF/SPC/etc) and play them in Winamp with Diskwriter. (If I can't find a GSF for an old Game Boy game, I generally just hack it to play the music at a point where there's no sound effects and log it to WAV from an emulator. ) Gamecube and DS, connect their sound output directly to your sound card's line in using high quality cables and record with Audacity. On Gamecube, clever manipulation of the lid can usually give you time to pause the game well before the music starts so that you can record it from there. DS I haven't actually tried. |

| I had a power supply go ZAP once, but it wasn't in a computer. (I used it for electronic projects.) And I had one that did die in a computer, but it didn't blow up or anything, it just gave out less and less power until I replaced it (and finally knew why that damn computer wasn't working). |

| You could do that, but you would need to have every single chip inside the cartridge all connected to switches. That'd be one big cartridge, and the length of some of the wires connecting them would probably cause misreads. | |||
