Well I really doubt that was the problem, but try changing them back anyway. You never know what'll fix something. I just had Firefox crash and it actually fixed several problems I was having with extensions.

It isn't necessary, except with some DOS programs. Windows will give the program as much memory as it needs until there's none left. Giving it more than it needs won't improve performance anyway.

I say they should just re-write it all from scratch and provide an emulator for the old API. Their current system, especially GDI, is a major pain to use.

I haven't actually applied for Programming, but I might if enough people think I should. Kawa should be great for it too, though, if he's not too overwhelmed from the Pok

Not that I necessarily disagree with it, but what's right business-wise isn't always right morally.

Antivirus programs could be the cause too. They tend to be pretty system-dependant. Anyone know just what the problem is with StyleXP on SP2? That could be why mine wouldn't work... |

Yeah, I actually made that code a while ago. Interesting note, it skips one of the letters (C I think), so D-4 actually says E-4.

When you save a level, it erases the old level data and marks it as unused, then scans the expanded area for a big enough unused space for the new level data. Unless the level was never modified before, in which case I don't think it erases the old data (since it's not in the expanded area). Although if it doesn't, it should... What, disable Yoshi's tongue altogether? Sure, you could (I think people have done it before) but it'd kinda suck.

Uh, guys, you realize he might not understand those threads? Internet translators can only help so much. I'll try to make my post easy to understand so that hopefully it doesn't get screwed up too much. This isn't a bad translation, but you might get a better one here. 1) I can't understand if you mean on the overworld or in the level itself. The Help file should explain both. 2) You can use other images from the game if you go to Level -> Copy Background Image, but it might not work properly if you use a different graphics set. To make your own you need to use ExGFX, or re-arrange the image by going to Editors -> Background Tile Map Editor Window. To change the music, go to Level -> Change Properties In Header and select the music you want. You can't make your own music yet but people are developing ways that you can. 3) Set the time limit to zero. This gives you unlimited time but the game will say "Time up" if you die. You need to hack the ASM code to avoid that. You can find information about that here. 4) First go to Options and make sure "Use joined GFX files" is checked. Then click the red Mushroom. Open the file "allgfx.bin" (which is in the "Graphics" folder) in a graphic editor like Tile Layer Pro or YY-Chr. Find the graphics and change them, save the file, then click the green Mushroom. You can change every graphic this way. Only the first two colours will work, the rest don't appear unfortunately. 5) This is somewhat complicated... -Open level C7, and press Ctrl + I. -In the second box (it says "C7") type a number of a level you can enter from the overworld (such as 105), then click OK. -Close Lunar Magic and open it again. Open your ROM, then type "Chelsea" immediately. You must use a capital "C" and no quotation marks. -The bar at the bottom should say "Chelsea is *really* cute". Otherwise you must close Lunar Magic and try again. -Go to the overworld editor (click on the castle) and press Ctrl+P. -Open the ROM in ZSnes. (No other emulator will work.) -Go to the level you saved level C7 into. -Do whatever you want Mario to do in the intro movie. When you're done, make a save state. -Close ZSnes. go back into Lunar Magic's overworld editor and press Ctrl+R. -Find the save state you just made (a ".zst" file) and select it. -Play the game again (any emulator will work) and make sure the intro plays properly. If it does not you need to record it again. This fails sometimes unfortunately. -Go to the overworld editor and press Ctrl+U. (If you don't do this the overworld will not look right.) 6) You need to change the ASM code for this. 7) Click on the castle to see the overworld editor. The problem with the "emulation doesn't hurt sales" argument is thanks to Revolution, it's no longer true. Really, even though it is the right thing to do I still don't like it. Unless they plan to either license the game or make their own 3D remake, that is... |

*changes soaked, sticky pants* I agree entirely about TWW. The game didn't feel right. It didn't have the usual fun-but-challenging puzzles, it just had a whole lot of frustrating, repetetive crap. The sailing thing ruined the exploration for the most part. Worst of all the engine itself was just horrid! Like you have to time it just right when you want to play a song, what the hell? OoT's was awesome, they didn't need to change it. And of course, the graphics just didn't seem to fit (though the special effects and music were top-notch). Hopefully TP solves these problems. It's definetely got what it needs graphically (though I'd have to see it in action to speak for the special effects) but if it's still a pain to play, I give up. One thing that was cool about TWW though was the way they masked load time via the sailing areas. It gave the illusion that every area was all linked together, because you could sail from one island to another across the world and never see a loading screen or transition effect. Pretty neat really. |

Toronto? Eww. You seen the air there lately? (But yes, they need to start doing these things closer to me. ) Seriously, I'd love to go, but if I could come even close to affording it... I'd blow it all on goodies at Anim |

It'd be awesome if games were less frustrating and/or anger management therapy wasn't such BS, but don't count on that happening. Also I really like the idea of it being a twistable sphere better. You hold it like a ball and the buttons are on the back. A good grippable texture (think melon ) would help keep it from slipping.

There's that, yes, but using the old sound system isn't enough to be backward-compatible.
