A computer isn't a horribly overpriced and heavy alternate case for something you'll be replacing in 5 years, though.

Wrong. You fail at English.

Well that's great when you're speaking Japanese. The question is how it's supposed to be said in English.

What's wrong with FF's flash? It works fine for me. Also BMF pretty much summed up what's wrong with IE. No matter how much you update, patch, and try to avoid these things, they still happen. It's a risk a lot of people would rather not take, and the most logical way to avoid it is to not use IE at all. (And even when it does ask you to install the spyware, still, having to click No every time is way annoying. What genius decided it needed an 'always trust content' option and not a 'never trust content' one? Not to mention they can always just keep popping up over and over again...)

BTW, I almost forgot these. They're little chunks of Javascript that you can use by pasting them into the URL of a bookmark. (Just make a new bookmark and copy all the code into the 'URL' field.) Works in Mozilla and Firefox, and probably just about everything else too.

-------------Previous Page-------------
javascriptfunction(){ var e,s; IB=-1; function isDigit(c) { return (%220%22 <= c && c <= %229%22) } L = location.href; LL = L.length; for (e=LL-1; e>=0; --e) if (isDigit(L.charAt(e))) { for(s=e-1; s>=0; --s) if (!isDigit(L.charAt(s))) break; break; } ++s; if (e<0) return; oldNum = L.substring(s,e+1); newNum = %22%22 + (parseInt(oldNum,10) + IB); while (newNum.length < oldNum.length) newNum = %220%22 + newNum; location.href = L.substring(0,s) + newNum + L.slice(e+1); })();

-------------Next Page-------------
javascriptfunction(){ var e,s; IB=1; function isDigit(c) { return (%220%22 <= c && c <= %229%22) } L = location.href; LL = L.length; for (e=LL-1; e>=0; --e) if (isDigit(L.charAt(e))) { for(s=e-1; s>=0; --s) if (!isDigit(L.charAt(s))) break; break; } ++s; if (e<0) return; oldNum = L.substring(s,e+1); newNum = %22%22 + (parseInt(oldNum,10) + IB); while (newNum.length < oldNum.length) newNum = %220%22 + newNum; location.href = L.substring(0,s) + newNum + L.slice(e+1); })();

These cycle through numbered lists of pages by modifying the last number in the URL. Eg: 'images.php?32' -> 'images.php?33'; '29.jpg' -> '30.jpg' and so on.

-------------Zoom In-------------
javascriptfunction(){ function zoomImage(image, amt) { if(image.initialHeight == null) { /* avoid accumulating integer-rounding error */ image.initialHeight=image.height; image.initialWidth=image.width; image.scalingFactor=1; } image.scalingFactor*=amt; image.width=image.scalingFactor*image.initialWidth; image.height=image.scalingFactor*image.initialHeight; } var i,L=document.images.length; for (i=0;i, 2); if (!L) alert(%22This page contains no images.%22); })();

-------------Zoom Out-------------
javascriptfunction(){ function zoomImage(image, amt) { if(image.initialHeight == null) { /* avoid accumulating integer-rounding error */ image.initialHeight=image.height; image.initialWidth=image.width; image.scalingFactor=1; } image.scalingFactor*=amt; image.width=image.scalingFactor*image.initialWidth; image.height=image.scalingFactor*image.initialHeight; } var i,L=document.images.length; for (i=0;i,.5); if (!L) alert(%22This page contains no images.%22); })();

Enlarges or shrinks all images on the page, even if you're viewing an actual image file. Doesn't work with frames though.

-------------Go To Referrer-------------
javascript:document.location = document.referrer; void 0
Works like a 'back' button, even if you open the page in a new tab/window/chicken dinner.

Of course those are probably going to get filled with smilies so you'll probably need to quote the post to see them.

[edit] Why does the code tag suck? Just ignore the italics and quote it.

Great now that it doesn't have a 3200-pixel-tall image. (Well besides the typo, but I think you probably know about that by now. )

That shouldn't be too difficult except for having the post count as the filename. You'd need some kind of image generator. A Notepad layout has been done quite a few times, though. (Tip: You can use this to rename windows and take screenshots. )

OK, this really isn't funny. This weditres is utter crap; it looks like it was written in 10 minutes by someone who doesn't speak anything close to English. Labels look like text boxes, you can't tell where or how big anything is, it's a pain just trying to add a control. And, it's the only thing on the planet that actually makes valid resource files! Watcom even looks like it hasn't been updated since 1993, has a ridiculously confusing and akward interface, and gives you the convenient options of saving as either a .rc file that won't compile or a .res file that isn't a valid resource. Maybe some of you 'hardcore' people like to use buggy software and manually hack just about every file, but I prefer things to actually work.

Er, replace the fan. And if it's so hot the keys are burning you, you might want to stop using it until you can get it fixed. That's probably not much better for it than it is for you.

That's usually it; also, some older BIOSes/boards can't measure above 127GB, so you need to partition it.

And it's easy to fill up a couple dozen gigs when you're downloading several episodes of shows at ~200MB each. I'm up to 70GB used myself, including about 15GB of non-video files. (Though back when those files filled my entire HD, before I upgraded it... Not fun! Nothing says 'too small' like not being able to burn a CD because you don't have room for the temp files. )

The whole 'coding for multiple browsers' thing is simple. I write standard HTML, if your browser can't render it right, there's a link at the bottom of my site's main page where you can get a better one. (And no, on the next update which it's desparately in need of but probably won't see for a while, that won't link to Mozilla; rather, the same link at the bottom of the board.)

Again? This is one of the things I hate about IE and Windows in general. Every new version has all the dialogs completely rearranged, so you have to find everything all over again.
