Still the same one I had last time. I don't really change it much, since it cycles through 49 different images randomly every 5 minutes. (Yay active desktop.) Currently there's nothing but Inuyasha in there, I need to get around to resizing some Card Captor Sakura and Ranma pics. Needs a bit of cleaning up, mainly a few files moved and some hacked system files stuck in next time I reboot. (Haven't done so in like a month... My uptime is now officially higher than VB can keep track of, which has my programs displaying an amazing -2136365 seconds.  Gotta port that thing to C sometime.)Highlights include the cool translucent start menu, nifty theme with centered titlebars, and IP on the taskbar. Vertical taskbars pwn. | That combined with two other sites I go to being down at the same time, and another getting hacked... I haven't seen that happen, but I have seen some strange errors, not recently though. One time I got told that both the thread was closed and I had the wrong password (two different error pages got mixed together ) when neither was true. Another time, at the very bottom of the page, another thread got stuck in halfway through. Computers do such strange things sometimes... |

It's possible, yes, but you lose a lot of functionality. I gotta have my Active Desktop... and for that matter, IE itself for testing layouts and page designs. It'd be nice if they made some major security updates (bringing the security level up to somewhere around "total crap"  ) though. I hate when I go to use someone else's computer and it's full of spyware, and having to teach people who use my computer (not that it happens a lot) how to use Firefox and them asking what's so bad about IE and not believing my answers. Really though, Firefox already has everything I like about IE. Smooth scrolling and a popup image toolbar! |

I've got a decent old computer around that I just fixed up the other day (needs a new HD though ). 32MB RAM (would be 96, but I stole some for this one ), P233, Win98, 5GB HD (2GB with Windows on it, not working though, and 3GB for whatever), and some sort of CD-ROM and floppy. Also has a modified (well, cardboard ) side panel with 3 fans in it, since the damn thing kept overheating. The CPU has some weird thing on it that prevents actually putting a fan on it.  I'm planning to set it up downstairs with a fresh 98SE install for my mom to do her taxes and get on the Internet, maybe my brother could play games on it too. It's a really freakin' nice computer; would kick so much ass if it weren't so old. ATX and old-style power supply compatible, both types of RAM, 4 HD bays, room for two PSUs (why, I don't know) and 4 drive bays on the front. Lots of room inside too.  |

Having space filler actually be executed is rare, but it's generally left as 00 or FF and just ignored. (It mainly depends on your setup... Some flash carts write FF faster than 00 since the empty ROM contains all FF by default; one instruction might be better to have than the other in the event that the game crashes and tries to execute it somehow. On Gameboy/Z80, 00 is NOP while FF is essentially JP $38 (actually RST $38, but that's all it does ), so if you used FF, you could make $38 an error handler and not risk screwing things up.)

Personally, I find level design to be one of the most fun parts, as long as the editor doesn't suck. |
The only problem I have is that one of the games I'm working on doesn't have a good editor (and I haven't been able to get mine working), and the other is giving me a lot of ASM-related trouble.
